Obviously this year has been very positive for the Dees no matter how it finishes (hopefully not this week, I got tickets ) but just as obvious is that we have quite a way to go to be real premiership contenders. Just curious as to what people see as our proirities to get there?

Personally I reckon we definately need another midfielder capable of clearing the ball. Without Thommo playing we have struggled in this area. Whether or not Brockers and Sylvia can step up to bridge this gap we will have to wait and see but both look quality.

Maybe also another young tall KPP either FB or FF? Perhaps priority to FF to back Neitz up and groom for the future. Is Fergie going to be a FB where he predominantly played last year.

I think we need another tall defender should be our no1 pirority and a tall forward. with Mclean Sylvia, Read, thompson our hardnest isnt to bad bad i suppose a couple more wouldn't hurt.

why are you people already admitting defeat?? Its not a positive year if we go straight out of the finals, as that means we weren't good enough to beat a struggling 8th. Also means we finish off the season with 5 losses. We loose any finals experience we can try and gain. To go from 1st (round 18) to 8th after 1st week of finals is a disgrace.... if thats the outcome.

If we have a good look at our list in terms of players under 21, we have Armstrong, Bell, Sylvia, Mclean, Rivers, Miller, Smith, Ferguson, Johnson, Davey and whoever i've forgotten. This is a pretty good spread across the ground. So in the draft we should target the best available player i think, with a priority being speed and skill in the midfield and a versatile tall player. I don't think we need to target players to fill specific postions at this stage, we've done well to do that over the last 3 years.
