Hi to all you Sydneysiders. Was at the game on Saturday and it was my first taste of twos footy in NSW. Being involved at VFL level in Melbourne i must say that the sooner the swans enter the VFL the better. What a disgraceful performance by those Tigers. Seriously if No.29 is in their best 22 then i will walk nude to the Gulf Of carpenterier. He wouldn't get a game at local level twos until he dropped 25 kegs!
No opposition magnets on the boards couldnt see any stats floating around, coaching staff absolutely bereft of any ideas to stop the flood of forward 50 entries and no resemblance of any system whatsoever in their play.
i then find out that they are meant to be one of the better sides in the competition. Please say it isn't so!
Your competition needs plenty to get remotely close, and dont tell me that 4 or 5 players will make 30 goals difference.
i am seriously thinking of sending my resume to a few sides. Surely it is for the betterment of the Swans players and the detriment of the local comp to get them them into the VFL asap.

#29 you refer to is a 19 YO kid who is learning the game, has performed well at reserves level and only a month ago kicked 5 goals against Tuggeranong in the 1sts when the full forward was out injured. The regular FF was out suspended so he was an obvious choice.

Playing Tuggers compared to the Swans is a huge step up and class and he will learn from the experience.

Maybe you need to do some homework on the competition and more importantly the Tigers.

Swings and roundabouts my friend...most clubs go thru bad patches and the Tigers are currently at that point. Tigers have not won a flag since 2000 but have been in 4 GF's since. The last being 2007.

Essendon, Richmond and Carlton were once powerhouses... also even more recently, Brisbane. My point is you dont stay top forever.

Is VFL a higher standard, absolutely. However the cost to play in that competition is not something the Swans can financially sustain. They play in Canberra to survive.

By the way 7 players were missing, their coach had to step aside for health reasons, they had a 6 day break between games, it was the 2nd time in 3 matches they travelled to Sydney (they put up a much better performance 3 weeks ago losing 15 goals to 7 from memory), their form has been poor since round 1, they are semi professional, they train 3 times per week oh and every team has a bad day.

Shit even GWS got smashed by the Swans...

Let us all see your resume as you obviously have a high opinion of your abilities to come on here and introduce yourself like this.

Please gentlemen i am not canning the league that the Tigers play in.
The swans boys seem to be at least the equivalent VFL standard and it would be far more beneficial to them to have that level of opposition.
Also forget the excuses the Tigers put their best 22 out on the park and i am sure that they will win games but not doing what they did on Saturday.
18 on 18 man on man they were going to get smashed so why not learn and teach a different methodology about the game and put it into practice. No game plan, no zones, no structure, no tagging, no pressing, no extras in defence, no taking grass, no sticking to skinny side to limit damage, why sit 6 in the forward line when the ball wasn't going within 2 postcodes. That game was the perfect opportunity for a new coach to put his stamp on how he wants things to happen and it just looked as if was submitting to defeat and couldn't be bothered with anything. An observation only gentlemen.
Don't worry about my credentials either hence why I was in Sydney. Dropping down levels wouldn't be too hard.

Think USyd would definitely struggle though.
Hard to say. At full strength I think Uni certainly wouldn't embarrass themselves. There's a good recruitment manager who apparently hands out UAI points for playing (that's what I learnt on RWO), a verrrrry committed coaching panel and the clubs built itself up well after almost dying off a few times.

Facilities and training should get better as the Uni Sports trust will put some more cash into the club and I'd imagine there'd be a big recruitment drive this summer meaning the odds of me making my power small forward role playing debut in the NEAFL are growing worse.

Ps: In pre season despite weighing about as much as a rung-out hand towel, Stat had to have someone push him up St John's hill and then started cramping up during the cool down.

Was that a cool down or a warm down, that could have made the diference to a fledgling footy career.

Mate, you were wheezing so loud I couldn't hear the call to run the next lap. Lay off the ciggies before practice and you might actually beat me a couple of times and not have to lie about it.

Someone on RWO told me USyd is actually considering handing out Commerce/Law degrees to star recruits, without the need to actually attend any classes or sit any exams?
