His foot speed is an interesting topic, I've been trying to gauge it for a few weeks now. Because he's such an inside player he doesn't often get a chance to utilise it but on a few occasions where the Swans have been on a quick break he's more than prepared to try and around his man. So I think while not Jetta or Rohan express I would say he's quicker than a Moore or Bird and I'd probably back him in a foot race against Hanners too. A more relevant aspect of his skill set would be his quickness of mind, he was caught holding the ball at least twice today due to indecision. I'm sure it will improve as he gets used to the pace of higher grades of footy.

Foot skills are also hard to gauge when he's in heavy traffic a lot but watching him kick for goal a few times I would say he's better than average. A few things which I haven't had the chance to observe is he was apparently a good overhead mark as a junior and was also a more than competent forward. He hasn't had a chance to play there much yet.

Thanks Grim. He's clearly in the mix for a call up and with your call on Meredith not breaking games open a mid/flanker spot opens up Parker may be among those coming in.

im going down to canberra next week im so excited to see the ressies down there again
will try and do a decent report ive got high expectations to live up too haha thanks Grim
Looking forward to it :thumbsu:

I'm envious of the fact that you'll be watching it, but certainly not envious of the early start in the Canberra chill

Read Blakey's preview of the Dogs game this morning and he said LJ is very close. I think he's very unlucky not to play this week, could have taken AJ's spot.

Ran into Malceski while finding my seat and he sounded pretty positive about getting back pretty soon.

I walked past him as well as I went to my seat. Him and Alex Johnson. Mal's hair cut is even more ridiculous in person. Hipster gone wrist-cutter.

Was about to say that too. Said Parker and LJ are getting very close to making their debuts. Can't wait to see each of them play.

Next week perhaps? Would love a Reid/Johnston forward line

I've had a theory that there might be 4-week trials during Kizza's absence between Parker and Gordon. One takes two weeks, the other takes the next two weeks, and the remaining two weeks are given to the better performer at senior level.

If LRT is back next week, which is probably more unlikely than likely but still possible, then you may see LJ's chances evaporate, as a backman anyway. That would raise a different question on how to use Teddy when LRT is back in, given he's been so good as a key defender in the last 10 months.

Yes he was great in the November-December period----lol

On this years form I strongly believe Richards deserves a spot in defense (KP or otherwise) ahead of Grundy. That may change with time but at the moment he's our best defender.

Not a bad write up Grim. Thanks.
468% points, what a laugh.
Hows this new competition any different to the Canberra league?
There the same teams were playing no? Exception GWS.

We play Brisbane and Gold Coast reserves this year twice each as well I think.

And if we make the GF we play the top team from the North conference, is that correct Grim?

The early running has seen the North conference teams having comfortable wins over the Canberra Clubs.

Thank you gentlemen.

Your input and knowledge is greatly appreciated.

Heres hoping we make the Grand Final.

Oh that part is a mistake. We have to win our conference Grand Final i.e. become Eastern Conference champions then we get to take on the Northern Conference champions.

Sorry Grim, that's what I meant.

The E Conference Grand Final and the winner plays the Northern Conference Grand final. Depends on your definition of grand final really.

It's very feasible this year that were the only team to compete with the North Conference teams from our group and yet be the overall winner.
