Zac Dawson of our club.

What happens when next year things dont go to plan and Tarrant does a hammy. Grover's used by date turned out to be 2009 and McPharlin hasnt recaptured AA CHB Form.

We end up playing Grover, Thornton, Dodd, Bradley on the 2nd best forward for opposition teams.

We end up leaking goals

We end up near the bottom of the table, screaming for a key defender but without even the concession of good picks. I dont fancy my chances finding quality KP talent with GC and West Sydeny taking the cream of the crop.

Put some more effort into a top 10 pick

Great post Ibbo ... I comepletly agree!:thumbsu:

Too many keyboard warriors on BF seem to read other boards and seem to think that if a player hasn't made it by 20 he is a dud. Sydney have an amazing track record of getting the best out of players other clubs dont want. The exact thing will happen if Drum goes, and we will cop more s#&t over letting a quality player go.

People have to realise that whilst we are recruiting young players they need a good sprinking of older players around them, not just to "protect" them, but also because phycisally they can't match up on the more developed players...

People overrate WAFL players all the time. I remember when Harry Taylor was in the WAFL... people couldn't stop talking about him. He looks completely out of his depth at AFL level.

hahahahaha, surely you jest... honestly your winding people up arent you

theoretical question braedsman... harry taylor goes into the PSD, melbourne pass him up, we can get him for nothing, would you take him?

Apart from the fact that Dawson has pace and a strong work rate.

I'd be more confident with Dodd, Bradley or Johnson standing next to an elite forward than Drum.

That mentality has led to Thornton and Browne combining for 17 seasons on our list.

If you struggle at WAFL level and don't work hard at training in your 4th season it's probable that you'll never be a good AFL player.

The players we cop grief for were good players at Freo though (Medhurst, McPhee, etc).

The players who have struggled at Fremantle like Troy Longmuir have been poor for their new club too.

I think he's shown enough to get another year and he's a valuable reserve to have considering our lack of KPP's.

If FFC can harden him up over the next preseason, he might actually be in the top 25.

after todays game i a really think we should give him a one year contract. maybe shope him around over trading week to see if we can get a 2nd round pick if we can make the deal but if not there is no point in trading him. i think he had a pretty reasonable game today and was attacking the ball a lot harder than usual

Had a couple of turnovers early, but to his credit picked himself up and had a pretty good game.

He is worthy of a one year deal.

Yeah, I agree with this...
Considering so many are going to get boned we have to hold on to a few..

Is he considered a part of the DA brigade, or just a slow developer ??

He was quite good today after a few early errors. He copped a couple of heavy knocks and seemed to tweak a groin or something, but kept soldiering on.

His supercoach stats (for what they are worth) had him 8th in our team. DT=55 and SC=90 ... so these indicate some level of effectiveness/impact in what he did.
