RIP Greigy. Shocked to hear he died of a heart attack and not the cancer that he was diagnosed a few months ago.
He fluctuated between being a pain to being a great contrarian voice in the commentary box. He was never dull.
He went at 66 and Packer went at 66 or 68. Greig's role in World Series Cricket was pivotal in getting both international and West Indian players. He was rewarded by Packer for his loyalty and not only got the commentary gig but his first non cricket job after the return to normal cricket life.
I suspect Ch 9 will do something special during the Sydney test.
