The pathway(s?) is starting to become more clear. Under a hypothetical situation where we beat the Lions tomorrow night, we would only need Melbourne to beat GWS OR Hawthorn to beat the Dogs to keep the dream alive. If both results occurred then that's even better but at least one will do. Then it's just up to us to beat the Pies.

If those 3-4 results occurred (2 of which we can directly influence) then we'd find ourselves 4 points or less outside the top 8 going into the final round of the season with a very winnable round 18 game against the 16th placed Hawks.

If the Ugly Ducks win we drop down (or up) to pick 4.
Is that a result going our way??
Gives us a fantastic opportunity to jump to 11th tomorrow night and keeps Carlton out of the finals picture.

A sydney win last night would of pushed us to an undeserved 15th spot anyways. Time to make up late run up the ladder now

We’ve exceeded my expectations already by not getting the spoon. Next year (god willing with lack of injuries) we really make our move.
Same , I prefer to look at the increasing percentage and attacking football , this year just too early could end up false hope like Melbourne , one year top 8 and then go to ........

Top agreed. The improvement is absolutely there. People still thought the suns would get the spoon at the start of the year. Nowhere near it. 3 wins last year. 5 currently. Likely to get at least 1 or more to go.
Wherever they land, this year has been a big tick.

Haven't really been blown away apart from round 1. In all games. Lots of close losses. Percentage is good. Its a big step forward compared to 12 months ago.

percentage is always a huge tell, if you get 6 wins but have a percentage of 75% you have either scrapped in for a win or got blown off the park. We are consistently in games, and even when we played like dogshit we don't get blown off the park. And we win well when we do, signs of a good team

Happy Dew did not revert Weller back to HB when thing don't go well and keep Bowes there. His tackle, speed , kicking and goal is more valuable playing mid/HF. Playing him HB make him look like lite version of Habrow and his kicking also not that great compare to playing mid/HF.

Any team who increases their % from 60 to 100+ has had a good year....and it's the stepping stone needed for the future.

The actual % might be a bit misleading this year with the shorter quarters.
I have started looking at where we rank as well.
Atm, we have the 9th best % which is a massive jump from last year when we were atrocious.

Last year the Demons were 17th with 78%, then daylight in 18th, and we finished in 19th place with 60%.
