The Royal Oak, Ruscombe in the UK. Landlord, worst job in the world, you live abve the place, you drink to much you don't get enough sleep and you spend your waking hours dealing with drunks. You do leave the trade with a masters degree in amateur psychology and counselling though.

That's the old girl. These folk own it now and have turned it into a more restauranty type place.

Did you see the final ep of Selling Houses Australia??? They did up a pub somewhere in country Victoria, it looked pretty good, did the beer garden outside, the formal dining area, etc- but of course was listed as "still on market" at the end of the episode.

Does sound like a tough job indeed- working what 12 hour+ days.

Didn't watch it, I would imagine that you could make a lovely home out of an old pub though, I've seen some nice jobs done deconsecrated churches too.
I don't miss the long days, that's for sure, but looking back on it, I made some enduring friends, it's just if I had my time again I wouldn't do it.

Ugh, remembered one from a couple of months ago.

Wanted to buy myself some swarovski jewellery for my birthday -cause who else is going to - so I thought I'd buy the matching bracelet to the necklace I already have.

Purchased it at my local shopping centre for $180.

While wandering around DFO a few weeks later spotted it for $90.:mad::mad:

Friends of friends run a pub in Henley, been trying to get out of it for years. Provided a good accomodation option though when visiting.

Oh and a lot of the Star Wars memorabilia I purchased during my 'collector' phase.

Ruscombe is just down the road from Henley, it's nearest train station is Twyford, which you would have been through if you caught the train out to Henley. It was also the station that Oscar Wilde caught the train to London from upon his release from Reading Jail.

I regret buying a lot of the clothes I did when I was 13-14 and trying to be cool. Mum would've bought me clothes because she loves a bargain and I would have saved a lot of money on clothes I didn't wear too much as I hit a growth spurt soon afterwards.

Too many to count in my teens (mostly clothes) but none that come to mind in the last 2 years - eliminating impulse buys, only shopping during sales, using vouchers and doing research/taking pictures/leaving cooling off periods has really helped!

That was a shocker after how awesome 2004 and 2004: Premiership Edition were we got served that and it was craptacular. I was happy that 2006 was much better.

In terms of videogames i would say Ghostbusters 2 on the Commodore 64, spent $25 of my birthday money from that year on it. What a turkey of a game it was (compared to the first game on the C64 at least). The Ghostbusters 2 and "new" Ghostbusters 2 games on the nes were a thousand times better.

Dvds - Superbad easily the worst dvd that i regret buying. A movie that went nowhere and the ending was a nothing ending - that really annoyed me.

Regret picking several pairs of shoes over the years, mostly because of how quick they wore out (basketball shoes that would last 3-6-9 months etc....... when in earlier years they would last anywhere from 2-4-6 years).

PS3 late last year. Have played it, but won't get the use during this year, and by the year's end I'll have a PS4/Xbox One.

Some of the clothes I bought in the US, and a pair of Air Jordans which look cool, but were more accepted by society when I was in the US. People give you funny looks in Australia for wearing Jordans.

Not exactly retail but my biggest regret as far as purchases go. 1990 300ZX, bought one in 2004 when I came back to Melbz after three years living in Darwin. I had it for five years and I still shudder when I think of the coin I sunk into it, lots of fun to drive though.
