I hope the Doggies do grab him and the big man has a blinding season and he gets the chance to redeem himself and be remembered as a top footballer for which he is, not for his last 2 seasons with us as some bleat about.

Im curious about the Hall situation. Can we put him on trade table this year of does he have to go through the draft? I assume he is still contracted. I just cant remember right now.

My understanding is that his contract with the Swans is only until the end of this season. So I believe he will walk into the Bulldogs side and we will get nothing. But good luck to him, he gave the Swans his best.

Talking of retirements it is with interest that I see the Bulldogs lost today to the WCE's. From the AFL's website, "Astoundingly, the Bulldogs went into the forward-arc 63 times to West Coast's 45 but still lost."

While the WC Eagles had 2 players that kicked 4 goals each, and 1 player who kicked 3, the best any Bulldog player could score was 2.

I would think that if the Bulldogs were considering recruiting BBB Barry Hall for 2010, today it would have become a certainty.

It never helps things if you kick 10 behinds in a row before you score a goal!
May I suggest that Bazza wouldn't have made things any better for them if he was playing.

We could just completely clear out any 23+ fringe players and any 31+ players and draft big before the new teams come in.

Heres what I would do:

Already out:
Fosdike
Kennelly
O'Loughlin
Coney
Barry
Hall

My outs:
Ablett
Brabazon
Buchanan
Crouch
Laidlaw
Playfair
Schmidt

Close to going:
Barlow
Bevan
Kirk (retirement)
O'Dwyer
O'Keefe
Pyke?
Roberts-Thompson
Nick Smith

AND the second coming of a certain T.Kennelly.

christalmighty, didn't we just pay for Coney to come back and get shoulder surgery? What, just so we can de-list him? After he quit????

Nick Smith?? Based on what? ROK close to going? Where? Onto winning a Brownlow???

Barlow, yes, I will agree with you there. Especially after his idiotic performance/interchange infringement on Sun!!! Man that guy is stupid.

Kirk can play til 2020 as far as I'm concerned.

Playfair...captain obvious award there....

This one and the other post should be delisted

i don't want a card. One thing i will say is that you will regret that Barlow comment.

Why though? Even the commentators were at a loss to understand why he could run on without someone else running off first?? It just defies logic? And I've been hard on him this year, I know, but he still makes some shocking mistakes...If you don't want a card just tell me in simple terms why I'm so wrong? We're both batting for the same side, remember?

You're right, let's delist the bloke for an interchange infringement.

To save Bedford a card:

Point about Coney? He quit. Still has to be officially delisted though.

ROK was never mentioned as close to going. He was referring to Daniel O'Keefe.

Barlow has had one bad game after a month of solid-good football. He'll be fine for next year, provided he doesn't drop dramatically over the next 3 weeks.

And that fact that you didn't pick up on LRT or Pyke being "close to going" is just as bad.

Ok, if Coney's quit, then why are we paying for him to come here and have surgery on his shoulder?? Still don't understand that one. Would be happy for someone to clarify/correct me.

Barlow's career, IMO, is still in the balance. And before you all get up and put your stomping boots on to give it to me again, don't think for a minute I wish him to fail, or have some sort of vendetta against him. I want him to do well, just like I want the team to do well, but I have doubts is all. I really hope he will be fine next year!

As far as LRT and Pyke are concerned, well I didn't bother mentioning them because the thought was pretty well laughable that they'd be "close to going". I didn't know that in replying to someone's comments I had address every single concern?

thats really scary...........

please someone update this thread ASAP

Did we pay for him to come here and have surgery? All I heard was that he needed surgery, and there was speculation he might come back to the Swans and get it done. As far as I heard, he never did.

And it just seemed strange to me that you mentioned Smith but no mention of LRT or Pyke, that's all.

Thanks mate, it does get frustrating. Maybe we could have Big Footy retirements.
