If we didn't have BLK, who should we use?

Ours is extremely noticeable.
I mean, is it really that hard to match colours?
It has to do with the type of material they use.
Everyone's looking for that competitive edge and if BLK and ISC feel that the material they use doesn't soak up the dye as well as another but it helps the sweat and aerodynamics and could be the 2% in a Grand-Final they will go with product over look.

That's their job to make a better product for the players than the supporters, unfortunately we are the ones who suffer because we have to buy it and people don't buy a jumper different to what the players wear so they have to sell the same one - black or grey.

ISC's black and Adidas' black are much better than BLK.

That is true.
But that has nothing to do with my post...

All three of ISC, Adidas and BLK use different materials for their jumpers - BLk may feel their material is a better product than the Adidas material, the downside is it doesn't soak up the ink as well but their job is to provide the best quality jumper for the players - not for the supporters, even though we buy them to justify it.

Double edged sword really, but if a grey jumper means better results even by 1%, for the club you have to accept that.
IF being the keyword.

nope

material wise BLK go with whatever is cheaper

Firstly, my point to Groupie was we should wait until we see the official 2017 release so I'm not sure where your rant comes from...

And you can't play in a previous years kit, because players change size, number and clubs and the AFL actually has rules about that.
I'd rather us play in the grey than cop a fine for 22 players every week... money better elsewhere.
I'm on about how our club folded to BLK in 2016 and thus as the club totally ignored this when I tweeted, emailed etc the problem have the feeling the same will result this year. Call it a rant if you want but it is typical Richmond accepting mediocre instead of demanding excellence.

As for the 2014 jumpers nit fitting g give me a break. They could have gone into a sports shop and purchased enough for a few games.........the grey, you got to be kidding pal.

I'm on the fence with that one as we have no proof that is the case, it's merely your opinion atm.
And surely Star had the cheapest, now beaten by Cotton On....

Not at all mate, how does the club fold when a company outside of them makes it?
They could have raised the issue but it's up to BLK to sort it out, not Richmond.
Enough of this "accepting mediocrity" bullshit.

If we break a contract we are set to loose a lot of money as well, something I'd rather us not do, we can take one more year than a financial hit (if we re-sign after 2017 without any guarantee of improvement or clauses then I'll join you)

And mate, you cannot just give them jumpers that were in the store 3 years ago!
The AFL will fine us for every player every week and the player issue jumpers are different to the retail, and no one is the same number or size from 2014...

IF we actually wore retails from the store you would be the first to say we "accept mediocrity" because they are retails... ffs

It's not bullshit, the club should have said no to BLK when they first arrived at the club instead they folded, accepted the crap and then sent the troops out to play in it. Ditto for the gear for sale in the Tigers super store. I asked one bloke there last year where I could find a black jumper or polo and he said this is it. I laughed at him and said how can you sell this crap, he was taken a back a little but got my point but said this is all we have. I shook my head put my wallet away and left.

Bingo, we shouldn't be even considering breaking a contract if it was written properly. How hard is it to define the tint of black or yellow in the contract? Anything not meeting the tint specs is in breach of the contract by BLK. Good old Richmond though, she's right, the fans will still buy it (laughing)............

In Jan 2016 it's only just over a year old pal.......that's when the message should have been delivered to BLK loud and clear.

You want us to turn out in grey ffs..........

if they can get it to 2014 levels that would be more than acceptable. I think they made the Player issue in China that year and from 2015 onwards the Player issue has been made in Fiji.

2014

This time next year we could be in Nike Adidas or Puma :praying:

hoping that the signing of a new apparel manufacturer will leak during the season like it did for Essendrugs, St Kilda and Pie this year

Has anyone heard of when RFC might update us on the situation with the jumpers? To my best recollection I believe that Peggy O'Neil mentioned a couple months ago that they were working with BLK on the jumper. I would think that either O'Neil or someone else from RFC would be updating us all sometime before the release of all the 2017 gear.

There is nothing they can do. They have a contract with BLK who supply the jumpers but nobody thought they should have any specs in the contract for what they must supply. Only had two colours to specify, not that hard is it?
