Is it taking long to progress through?

It depends on how quickly you work out what to do. A few times I reckon I spent 30+ minutes going around in circles before realising the answer was right in front of me. You just have to exhaust every option at every step. There is a hint book of course but I've refused to use it so far because if I managed to finish the first game when I was like 10 and the internet didn't exist I'm sure I can work this one out.

How long does it take to finish?

Hmmmm hard to answer. I think it took me between 10-12 hours. I leaned on the hint system a little more than I would normally because I needed to roll credits for the review so I reckon I saved maybe a couple hours max.

So few hours in and this 100% feels like a Monkey Island game true to its roots.

Melee island feels like it did in the original with a few changes obviously

It oozes with constant references to the first game. Even the chapter order is like the first game. I don't think anyone who never played at least the first game could truly appreciate this.

I'm loving this game

Even better that I can play with my little kids, after this I'll get them playing DOTT and maybe the two original Monkey Island games too

Just working my way around the islands trying to secure all 5 of these keys now

A good game that plays homage to the originals but I can't help but a bit disappointed with the ending

Either I'm a lot smarter than 8 yo me, or this game is way easier.

Also the hint book is a godsend, but i hate using it.

oh well, I bought it on Switch anyway. Could have held off though
