A good win, we controlled much of the game though the fatigue late certainly hurt but regardless it was Ports home game so to get over the line is big. Fingers crossed we can front up next week against Brisbane after 2 physical taxing games in a row.
Credit to Don Pyke for revamping our game plan to a high pressure style. Not sure if it happened during pre season and we took a few weeks to get used to it or if he made the change after the Kangaroos game, but it has definitely worked and now gives us a game style that can take it up to anyone in the league.
Ugly: Greenie and Berg failing to score from absolute sitters. Putting the cue in the rack in the last.
Bad: Mrouch's injury. Gooch, Knight, and Betts did little. Knight'll probably get a reprieve based on his two goals (though he owes one of them to Murphy). How long are we content to carry Gooch?
Good: Arresting the collapse in the last, Murphy's pressure, Sloane, Tex icing it, Lynch back in form, CEY and Brouch solid, defence held up well, Talia important, Greenwood worked his way into it in the second half (though he'll be very happy we managed to win), Brown held up well in his first game back.
