Autopsy Review v Swans

Outcoached, worked, played in the middle of the ground.

Koby and Luke were found wanting inside, disposal was very sloppy.

Swans were able to sling the ball out the back nearly every contest, we couldn't stop it.

It went from there, thought the others held up alright.

Really disappointed with the midfield today, Swans put on an absolute master class. Was hoping for a bit more effort from Paddy, still looks way off the pace.
Why the midfield? we well and truly won clearances in stoppages and centre bounces. What really killed us was the lack of run. Kicking out of defence we had no one to kick to so just coughed it up.

Not up to it:
Joey (games gone past him loses every 1v1 contest, can't keep his feet, kick high and hope type of player now)
McKenzie (how do people claim he has a good kick? Still yet to see it)
Mattress (too fat too slow, trim up son)

Great games:
Ross
Billings
Acres
Carlisle
Steele
Gilbert

Below average:
Mav (he needs to find form asap)
Longer (got molested by an average ruckman)
Membrey (down on form but was still serviceable)
Gresham (was still good but trying to do a bit much at times)
Roberton (was nowhere near his brilliant best today)

Horrible effort defensively by everyone. Sydney just had far to many open plays and could run and carry all day long. Wayyyy too many fumbles as well. We have nothing to kick to once we get it to centre wing. Aaron Hamill needs to be under the microscope. s**t game. Let's move onto next week.

Ok we made lots of mistakes and swans were really good in their ball movements.

We need someone in half back wgo can kick the ball - Savage

Drop weller, Dunstan and Monty. Give someone else a chance.

And change our forward entry.

I'm getting in early here but if you compare to Bruce, paddy did no less.

Bruce against hawks in a thumping only got 10 touches, then 7 and 7. All three were victories.
Paddy had 11 today in a putrid performance moving forward off half back. He didn't stand a chance with that field kicking.

It sounded like a Sydney home game from that start, that doesn't help with the umpires. Sure we played s**t but us supporters sure know how to waste a home ground advantage.

Those calling for Bruce to have been in and Roo our, you may as well take two goals of our meagre tally.

Without Gilbo playing we would have lost by 120.

Weller, Dunny and McKenzie back to the magoos.

Lack of run. The midfield lol.

They obliterated us through the middle all day. We might have won in the centre square but it ended there.

Lost it in the midfield, outworked and our defense never had the help required. We might have to go to the board for another game plan instead of the repeat 50 entries. We were found out big time today.
Our forwards must be losing confidence after getting the pill sat on their head time and time again.
Our injuries hurt our rotations but we were simply outplayed.
1 game of isn't enough of a sample to say wether paddy in for Bruce was a correct or incorrect call - especially with that delivery.
Review, reload and reset for the doggies.
In a year as even as this is for the comp, we'll still make it.
Keep the faith Sainters

I reckon Holmes may get a game, we know he can win hit outs and tackle above billy's standard. His round the game and marking is at least break even with Billy so i'd do it.

Thought we just looked off the boil, credit to Sydney's pressure but we butchered it under no pressure at times.

We flattered them a bit with most of all their scoring coming from us turning it over.

Richo we don' have the skills to work it out of the D50 with short kicks especially with Webster out.

Going have to run and gun and takes risks. Can't be any worst as as least the ball will be up the field when turned over and we can try and set up.

Only got to watch second half. Was awful, heads dropped everywhere. Most guys just pretending to tackle in the end.
I feel sorry for Paddy how can he be judged on that when the ball is not coming in to even give him a chance to ply his trade.
We need games into Paddy. It builds confidence, Keep playing him. Maybe rest Roo?
Players were either cooked physically or just gave up.
Need to keep cracking in no matter the score.

Going early here will probably get howled down but in order for us to move for Riewoldt needs to go after this season followed by Montagna.

Roo chases the ball and the structures around him actually fall down. Teams allow him to lead up but then drop a player back thus prohibiting our fast ball movement.

Skill level is absolutely patethic from 80% of the side when the pressure is on.

Acres, Brown, Carlisle, Billings and Gilbert can hold there head up after this game.

Midfield got absolutely killed and it's time to try and give Marshall a game because unfortunately in todays game hitouts don't justify being selected (Jacob's v melbourne) if you can't do anything around the ground.

Bad afternoon.
Virtually all teams put in a stinker once in a while, especially when they are not an established quality team...which we aren't (hopefully we will be over the next few years). Don't forget how much quality they have in their team as well.
On the flipside, ideally we should have been a lot more competitive at this stage in the evolution of the side, and results like this could have a big impact come finals time in a likely close season, whether making it or not, or position wise.

As supporters though, just as we ride the highs of wins like the Giants one, have to deal with lows like this one.

Billings was good today I thought, Gilbert endeavour great again. Acres good. Carlisle was pretty good.
Hardly a fair team performance to accurately assess Paddy's performance.
