REX Hunt has flagged the possibility of joining the Richmond board, but the media star maintains he is too busy to join just yet.

Hunt, a two-time Tigers premiership player, said yesterday he would like to be invited into the boardroom as soon as his business commitments eased.

"I'd never rule it out," he said. "I can't see myself ever being as busy as I have been.

"As soon as I see myself clear to be able to do a proper job -- not just go to a board meeting, but be at the club and give them the support -- I'd be disappointed if they didn't ask me."

Hunt, growing increasingly frustrated by the Tigers' failures, has again implored legends Kevin Bartlett and Royce Hart to return to the club.

He said he was recently approached by three "influential supporters" to see if he was interested in joining the Tigers' revamped board.

"They said, 'We need someone like Eddie (McGuire) on the board to actually give us a voice'," Hunt said.

"Business away from football doesn't allow me the time to do that.

"I was very, very blunt. What's the use of doing a half-job because Richmond don't need just a coat of paint and that's it, we need to be sanded right back to the timber and start again."

Asked if he could ever see himself as Tigers' president, Hunt strongly defended current leader Clinton Casey.

"From the outside looking in, I think the least of their problems is the president. I think he's doing a fantastic job of keeping the ship afloat," Hunt said.

"Me being president or getting rid of someone is not going to win games."

Hunt, who last year publicly blasted Bartlett for stubbornly not returning to Punt Rd, plans to ask premiership coach Tom Hafey to spearhead the bid to get the legend to return.

"I obviously roughed him up and that's not going to work, but I just need Tommy Hafey or someone who is really close to him to get to him," Hunt said.

"Tommy has to say, 'Listen, Jack Dyer our legend is gone now . . . we need another living legend'."

Hunt said Bartlett's return would have an immediate uplifting effect.

Hunt said he was also disap pointed Hart did not have a presence around the club.

"Royce Hart was recognised as the greatest centre half-forward of all time . . . I haven't heard of Royce for 20 years," Hunt said.

"We're talking about a fantastic football club that is in real, real trouble."

Hunt watched the Tigers' Saturday night debacle from his loungeroom and was furious at the game plan.

"Graeme Richmond would turn over in his grave seeing this little chip **** stuffaround," Hunt said.

"I agreed with Terry Wallace. I thought, 'Gee, what are some of these guys wearing a Richmond guernsey for?' "

Fair comment he makes about having someone like a eddie mcguire we need rex and he would be the man. Maybe he is going to be part of the tiger resurgence. With our new coach and list he could be the new president and imagine if KB and harty came back...

Hmmm, i sent him a letter asking him to come on board - is he referring to me as one of the "influential supporters" lol.

The bighead still hasn't even bothered to reply - such a nice letter too lol.

I still want you Rexy - i'll forgive your insensitive crushing to my ego if you make a stand and get rid of that bum we've got now.

Rex too busy??

Eddie McGuire isnt too busy for anything LOL

We want Rex

We want Rex

although I have to doubt the comment that if KB came back it would lift everyone around the club, I mean we couldnt even win one for Big Jack when he passed away, I cant see us winning one if KB came back with T-shirt Tommy.

Let me put it this way, who out of these three would you pick to coach the tiges

Frawley, can't coach, wants to coach
Wallace, can coach, wants to coach
Blight, can coach, doesn't want to coach

It's the same with the board.

I can't understand why people want Rex. He is all about Rex Hunt and doesn't give a stuff whose toes he steps on to get what he in his own mind believes is right. Remember the last loud mouth ex-Richmond player to get involved with the club? He won't be on the same scale as good old Mal, but he will stick enough dynamite up enough arses to start the blood letting on a large scale. I hope he stays busy for a long time.

If Rex is to come to Richmond and do an Eddie Mac
then he had better do some serious character analasys.

Eddi was well educated as to the demands of the position.
Can Rex actually be a president, does he have what it takes.
He may very well but we wont know until he's in the mix.

In a perfect world the picture would be this.

Sheeds or Malthouse coaching,
.
Promote the **** out of the Fathern son rule
In the stands names like Raines,Roach,Cloke,Krakouer.
A doco on Andy krakouer and his dad would win an award at Cannes -Great stuff

Hafey and KB In the rooms pre match.

Royce Hart on the board.

The Tigers have come home.

Its a whole production FFS !

If the boys couldnt lift in this scenario then they deserve to be shot
