you know guys, if seven gets the tv rights, Rex hunt could become a very powerful member of our board. We only have to look at the sort of power eddie bought to collingwood with nine. Rex has already signalled he will return to seven if they regain the football rights. This could be VERY VERY good news fellas :)

Rex will become and board member regardless and much sooner than you think. Ch 9 have the rights for 2 more years but rex will be a board member by the end of this year.

Very good point Astro ..... have found it quite vexing that the big fella chose to stay out of the media ( TV ) for the minute , now we have our answer .

ABSO********INLUTELY RALMMFAROOOOOOOOOOOOOO @ at Eddie insinuating that nine would take thier bat and ball and go home , hence de-valuing the whole tendering process , hence destroying footy ( as he would have it ) .

And this is somehow channel sevens fault ?

Someone seriously has to knock the god complex out of that idiot .

Can`t wait for Rex to end up in an "EDDIE" like position , where he can manipulate all and sundry to suit the mighty tiges .

And people thought Idi A Min was bad , LMAOOOO....

Having Eddie commentate is like watching the match live...

...from the middle of the Collingwood cheersquad. Can't wait until he's off our screens for good.

Go Channel 7. I'd take Bruce and Morphett over Eddie and Lyon any day.

Here is one to kick this rumor along.

I was at training yesterday - Thursday and was standing just near the race. after about 20 mins Miller strolled out and stood in front of me watching the training. a few minutes later his phone rang. All i heard him say was g'day rex and could not hear the rest of the conversation - not that i wanted to, I felt bad about listening to a personal comversation but his g'day rex was as lound as the first words of a phone call usually is then spoke at normal tone after that. (he was at least 2 or 3 metres in front of me).

For all i know rex might be his dogs name (clever dog).
 
I'm not replying - don't want you getting aroused walking through Yarra Park :D Might be some poor unsuspecting schoolgirls around lol

nah i wasnt disagreeing with you. i was just asking if somebody already knew if rex was to definately come onboard. hopefully he does!

i doubt if 7 got the rights we would ever be able to have rex being as big and manipulative as Eddie - And i surely hope not!!

Eddie deserves to go down for what has become of football since he and nine took over the right of collingwood and nine respectively . Biased draws - Extremely lopsided TV coverage - fortunately richmond havent been as bad as other clubs - Carlton have been drawn interstate two years in a row round 1, with NEITHER game ever being on free to air in any capacity. An absolute joke, and extremely damaging to membership.

I'd be happy for Rex just to be able to increase our membership enough, to ensure we can make money each season.
 
I'd just be happy to see channel 9 arkoled out. After years of lobbying in Canberra from footy supporters, Prime (7) were doing a reasonable coverage and showing Friday night games around 8.30. Once 9 took over any chance of decent footy coverage on free to air went out the window. If the AFL are serious about wanting to promote the game in Northern states, they'll ditch 9 at the first opportunity.
