Rhode - well done

Whilst there is alot of improvement in us as a team, I was glad to see that we were able to lock it up in the midfield at various times of the game.
We were more accountable in the middle which resulted in less free flowing footy.
In weeks gone past the opposition would get on top of us by getting out too easily, this did not happen as frequently yesterday.

Rawlings will need another big body to help up forward, hope either Darcy or Croft can give us more.

Credit where credit is due, I thought Rohde out-coached Schwab the whole day. He clearly did his homework on Mitchell/Crawford, and we broke even at the stoppages (Hawthorn would have expected to kill us in this area). Use of Robbins was also very smart, as was the use of Harrison pinch-hitting to telling effect. Midfield rotations were more subtle this week, while still giving the core midfielders the necessary rest. Use of Street in the middle gave Darcy license to cause mis-matches up forward.

Best aspect of the game was the long kicking to short kicking ratio. Again we had more long kicks to the hot spot, hence we killed them in contested marks for the day. Eagle is becoming a vital player for us with the new game plan.

All in all one of Rohder's best days in the box so far.

I will also jump on the bandwagon after being gutted last week. Robbins could be good up front for us but he need to kick those few snap shots he has rather than ballooning them. I Still don't want to get too exited though, Hawthorn didn't play too well, but then I know we still can play a lot better. I tell you what though geez some of the quick movement was ver brisbanesque in short spurts (and it was short spurts!)
