?????????????

It wouldn't be a bad idea to give ROK a taste of senior footy before Laidler returns.

I'm with you on that one. I can see him running out of the back-line and bombing the ball long to leading forwards or midfielders. I don't know a huge amount about the kid, but I would like to see him get a shot.

Wouldn't mind swapping him for Tuohy if he doesn't come up from injury. He was super on Saturday and I agree with Doc, the speed is back and that left foot is lethal. It would be nice to give him a taste of it but it's a huge game on Sunday.

Nothing official just yet GDB...we have the option at the moment to upgrade 2 rookies whenever we want and Rhys looks likely to be one of those players.

Thanks for that, zee.

Just thought he looked a bit better than VFL level. Hope so for his sake!

I've been saying this to people for weeks now, and they seem to find a reason not to put him in.
ohh he's injury prone, he's too slow ( which is not true)

I've been on the ROK bandwagon since he arrived at Carlton. There's just something about him that makes you think 'he's gonna be something special'
He has fought his way back from injury after injury and is finally getting some continuity and consistency in his games.
A senior debut shouldnt be too far away for this kid. Especially if Zach doesn't come up and Laider still out.

He could be in with a chance this week if Tuohy is out but Armfield also played a very good game for the Ants. Laidler needs a week or two in the VFL before a recall IMO.

I agree that he should get a shot if possible, but you mentioned guys like Tuohy and Laidler who are among the many quality depth players that we have to come into the side. With guys like Tuohy, Laidler, Thornton, Bower, etc all having a better grip on a senior spot, I don't know how we can get O'Keeffe into the senior lineup, barring a run of injuries to senior back-line players.

It is going to be hard to fit ROK in. He can really play anywhere. Of late he's been getting a run through the middle and has succeeded. He is a talented kid with a booming left kick
We do have depth and that is a good thing. I just hope he can find a spot in the team soon!

O’Keeffe’s persistence rewarded
"This year he's had a good pre-season and been able to string some games together which he hasn't done before," Icke said on Friday after the final teams for round 14 were announced.

"The consequence of that is that every week he's been getting better and better.

"He's got enormous power in his game, he's a big strong lad, and can play as an outside midfielder or across half-back, so after all of that improvement he gets his opportunity."

I'm claiming the midas touch with the buddy draft.

1st Buddy: J Russell in 2010 - 2nd in BnF

2011: Duigan and O'Keeffe - nuff said :p

Eat your heart out Sin and TG!

My picks were Kreuzer and Thornton.

Kreuzer at pick 20-odd, and Thornton as a best of the scraps selection.

One is a superstar in the making, the other has turned his career around in 2012 from looking all but gone to deserving another contract.

I win. :)

RO'K's legs lack the size to sustain an AFL career...

Wiggins last year, Waite this year. If the Mods truly love their club they'll red card me the week the buddy draft is on next year
We've been looking for an excuse.

Even having not seen a lot of Rhys, he has attributes that suggest he may be around for some time to come.

I guess he'll be maintained as a rookie for next year. Would that be right?
I read something earlier in the year about him being highly rated at the club still but with his injury history he needed to get through 15 games this season to keep his spot. Looks like he'll do it easily at the moment.

I remember that as well, but I too cannot recall where I read it.

ROK is on 12 at the moment (10 VFL, 2 AFL) so he's well on the way to reaching that target and he should do it quite comfortably.

I'd be surprised if he was elevated at the end of the season but I'll say now that there is no chance he'll be let go unless he requests it, which I can't see happening.

He's clearly not part of our best 22 but with a little more experience he can certainly be a contributor.

God I hope not, but he is from Adelaide - would perhaps be targeted by PA/Crows? Lots of competition for his spot with Duigan, Laidler, Lucas similar types.
