Luke, situations aren't always as easy as that.
You and I both don't know what really went on and because Ric is no longer with us, we never will.
If Ric did commit a crime, he's answering for that right now. (To God)
This thread is about passing respect to a man that had nothing but positive influences on those that worked for the Hawthorn and Box Hill footy clubs.
The Ric I know (well) would not have done these crimes.
The Ric I didn't know...who knows. (We all have our secrets)
Let's just leave it out unless we know...which none of us do. Don't forget, a couple of Hawks faced sexual assault allegations last year.

Guilt needs to be proven, not innocence. We have an evidence based legal system to protect people against exactly what you're implying.

To be fair if the age article is correct it does say that he left a letter apologising for his actions.

Police are understood to have been given evidence of a recording and a letter, which allegedly contained an apology from Mr Sprake for the abuse.

There's not much more to discuss here.

The allegations are horrific, and the discussion of whether they did or did not happen is not going end with a happy resolutions for anyone.

The club, rightly or wrongly did not have any knowledge of his past during his employment and now the players and staff have been left to try and make sense of it all after his passing.

It's a mess for all.
