As we saw last night, Ricciuto has the capbility to play forward without having a big impact in the midfield, will the crows consider playing Ricciuto forward more this season. He is a match winner in the forward line, and we have many young kids to take his role in the middle part of the ground, Reilly, Knights, Shirley, Van Berlo and Skipworth, with the older boys as, McLeod, Edwards and Goodwin to lead the way.
Ricciuto had limited training over the NAB cup after injurie but showed everyone that he doesnt need much training to kill a game open.

Will Craigy consider playing him as more as a forward this season?

dEFINITELY. Starting this weekend. As his match fitness increases and Welsh returns he will play more midfield. Still a great weapon to utilise at times in the forward line

He will probably be rotated and maybe move forward to give him a rest from the midfield whilst giving experience to the younger kids like knights a chance to shine! He does look extremely potent in the forward lines though. We still have Welsh and Mcgregor who will fill the forward spots when Bock and Torney returns!

Roo will probably play more in midfield when he gets match fit, he is a perfect full forward, good hands, leads into space, VERY strong and a SUPER STRAIGHT kick. What more can you want?
I still want to see him in the guts as hes fantastic there, but resting him up forward is a very solid 'Plan B'

Good call :thumbsu:

I said weeks ago that our forward line was missing a damaging player with some real ooomph. Mc Gregor doesnt have it. Hentschel doesnt have it. Perrie doesnt have it. They are all blue collars. Roo on the other hand does have it. :)

As Stiffy said in another thread, Craigy moved Mattner away from his best position ( wing ) to enable the development of Knights or Reilly in this position so I don't see why we can't do it with Roo. We have enough depth in our midfielder to enableRoo to spend the majority of the game up forward.

I still can't believe how well he played. No pre-season and up against one of the best midsize defenders ( Clement ) in the game. Amazing effort.

Good point. With Roo in the forward line we now have a 1st tier forward surrounded by quality second tier forwards ( Welsh, Kenny, Trent and Pez ).
