This is yet again another monumental utensil-up by the Crows PR machine.
The official announcement on the Crows website was:
"Richard Douglas to retire at season's end".
No mention at all in the press release about his desire to play on or be recruited by another club.
How can the club get it so appallingly wrong?
We are quite rightly the laughing stock of the AFL.
Well I suppose they could have just come out with it and said "We sacked Douglas because we think he's past it. Any offers for a trade?"

Nope, Mackay is currently better, Dougy is completely cooked, but yes, if and when Mackay gets an extension, he should be in the SANFL next year as break in case of emergency.
Think he means at a lower level? Didn't sound like he likes playing afl level anymore.

A bigger deal out west.
Went about 2 seasons too long, and certainly didn't live up to the amount of potential he had, but he had a solid career all up.
Unfortunately had a bit of the Van Berlos about him where he was too eager to sacrifice himself for the team instead of taking on the responsibility of being a consistent A grader. Certainly flashed that potential for periods of time before being shunted back to half-forward.

I cant see sauce retiring, and dmac will only go if he's pushed.
I wouldn't be surprised if they both get one year deals....
Just shows how removed from reality these guys are.
Is there no one in his life that dould give him some real feed back on his performance for the last two years.
We know those within the club are clueless in these scenairos, Thommo, VB etc.
But can't his missus go "darling I think it might be time".
Has he no mates outside the club that can go "mate, looks like you are relly struggling out there"
