What we've done very well is identify talent from other clubs who, mainly due to injury, haven't been able to make the grade at their original club. You have a look at the likes of Cloke, Scotland plus a few others in the past like Spaulding, Lappin and perhaps French, they were generally very good players who left for more opportunities or because they were de-listed. Then Carlton came along.;)
Hadley is obviously a very good player, very injury prone but played in a premiership in what, his 14th match? Remember also that Brisbane were very reluctant to let him go, and to trade him for pick no.52 only is a huge bargain.
Darren Pfeiffer is looking like a good player for us too, he was also wretched with injuries during his time at Adelaide but then we came along and will probably only improve further.

Justin Murphy for Ben Harrison wasnt bad either. We then offloaded Murphy to the Cats for a 1st round pick we used on Wiggins or Sporn and then got him back a year later fairly cheap.

I dont know if Hadley has turned the corner coming to us as he was a very good player at the Lions but needed a change of scenery.

He really adds something else to this team and I really am liking the way he has adapted to the club.

His attitude and attack on the ball simply cannot be questioned and one cannot help but admire the way in which he has worked his butt off to get back from 2 knee reconstructions to play the kind of footy that he is playing.

He provides a solid body through the middle of the ground, which is something which we have been crying out for for quite a while now. His disposal is all class as well.

He's only going to continue to improve and is a valuable member of our best side. Make no mistake, recruiting him was an excellent decision and for pick 52 was a genuine steal for a player of his quality. A calculated risk, and it has well and truly paid off thus far.

I couldn't be much happier with the way he's going right now.

Another thing regarding Hadley is the fact that it seems as though he's a leader. He's been doing a lot of work with the media so it looks as though he is really leading the group even though he's not in the leadership group. I reckon he will be in a few years, even as early as next year.

He really is a quality player, and he always has been. A shame he's been cut down by his knees in the past, but then again, if he hadn't of been, we wouldn't have him on the list.

He's fast becoming one of my favourites at the club.

Great player, great pickup...and remember he played in a GF in only his 4th game!!

He is under every pack without a doubt, and looking at him he isn't a big bloke in terms of muscle mass, i think he is on the slimmer side of things, but has the hardness we have so long needed.

His clearance out of pack, mainly to Judd is fantastic.

Will be the pickup of 2008 (minus Judd of cours but we expected Judd to do the thing he does)

I absolutely love this guy, good leader on the field, tough hard nut that has come through a great system in Brisbane, Carlton have picked up 2 great players/leaders that have gone the distance, this will be invaluable. He reminds me of another player who had 2/3 knee reco's and was as tough asd they come as well Mr Dean Rice, guess what he played in a premiership soon after crossing as will Mr Richard Hadlee soon.....

CARN THE BLUES!!!! :thumbsu:

I have always been a fan of Hadley's (as opposed to Thornton). What a sensational trade. TO add to people's comments, he is not only strong but looks strong as well and adds signficantly to our presence around packs. Watch for massive improvement

Love Hadley. No wonder Lethal was really disappointed to see him go.

In another 10 weeks when he has really found his feet and comfort with his new on ball comrades he is gonna be a force.

Teams great with Juddy already. Great foils for each other.

Our rucks and midfield will propel this team into a competitive finals unit in the future.
