who goes when fraser comes back? i think we keep richards as i thought he gave his all on sat night and he really showed us why we should keep him, keeping in mind he was up against and probably beat the supposedly best ruck duo in comp.

Last week I would have said keep Bryan, this week Richards.

Richards played great last night, Bryan is very useful down forward as well.

If Rocca goes then maybe Bryan stays in to help out, if not Richards

Bryan is useful down forward, but Fraser would be more useful down forward IMHO. Bryan's output is fairly easy to replace, as he isn't much of a ruckman, and forwards we've got already.

Charman, while out of contract, wouldn't be a player to walk out on the club and into the PSD. So we'd have to manufacture a trade for him, and short of our topline kids, I can't see what we could offer.

At least if he's on the market, there's less competition for the other available ruck prospects. Mind you, I can't figure why he'd want to go to Carlton or Richmond on current form.

Richards played one of his better games last night.

None the less, we need to find another ruckman next year.

Richards would be a good 3rd string ruckman.

and whats been happening with your bloke lately?? struggling to find the footy and when he gets it lacks the class he has shown over the past years

I do agree that Fraser would be much better forward than Bryan.

I also think that Richards played very well last night. If Rocca does not get suspended Bryan should definitely get dropped.

In the scenario that Rocca is suspended though we could drop Bryan and have Richards tap out most of the match, keeping Fraser to play mostly forward. Or we can use Fraser as ruck most of the match and use Bryan mostly forward.

After reading your post though I have changed my mind. We need Richards to ruck out most of the game and use Fraser as a back up. Lets put some faith in Richards next week and see if he can keep this current form up!

Can we play all 3? Especially when we have Rocca, Clokey and Rusling in the side? Not sure. Gonna be a tough call. Fraser has to play, thats the thing, unless Mick rests him for Week 1, as he will rest at least one or two. Guarenteed MCG first week no matter what.

I see the logic in having to different style rucks and people saying Bryan offers something different to Josh, reality is Bryan still really offers not much. I am all for letting Guy play as the number 1 ruck and letting Josh play a roaming role as an extra follower/ Back up ruck.

Rest Frasier for the finals. Then see who has been winning the most hitouts. If it's preety even and they are doing a good job maybe play Frasier in the forward or maybe even as another on-baller?

Richards. Saturday was his best game for us by a mile - and he did it against pretty fair opposition.

Bryan teases: loved his bit of play in the 1st quarter where he scattered a couple of Swans and completed an excellent lead. Unfortunately, he doesn't do it anywhere near enough - and that's been the story all year.

Richards is a ruckman, not a great one, perhaps not even a good one, but a ruckman nonetheless.

Bryan is not a ruckman, he is essentially cannon-fodder. He is a player who can jump into opposition ruckmen so that they don't utterly destroy us, and go forward and kick an occasional goal. However, anyone can jump into an opponent, and forwards are hardly Collingwood's achilles' heel at the moment. If we're relying on Bryan to kick us a score, we're ****ed anyway.

Richards is the guy until we recruit someone better.
