Just received one just recently, so don't need another but thanks anyway
Whats your answer for your failed dynasty between 92, 93 and 94
Opportunity lost???????
Big bad sheedy waving his jacket around scare you folks out west?????
Pipe down you sook. Try not to have nightmares over Mason Cox

The one thing I do think is stupid is that clubs pay nothing when they get a free agent. the compensation pick should come from the club's draft points. Would make for a more equal system.

Anyway, Richmond and Collingwood have built good lists through a variety of avenues, just like West Coast has. Sure we got Lynch and Prestia (for pick 6) and Caddy (via Geelong), but what about Stack, Pickett etc that nobody else wanted. Even blokes like Grimes and Soldo who were picked up in rookies drafts and developed.

By good it's good to be hated again rather than pitied....

It means success and all you s**t heads that made jokes about ninthmond finally have to suck your own dicks because your mums not home.

Face it now Vlad is gone the AFL can see the $$$$$ rolling in and that doesn't happen when it's a s**t stained drug addicted club like west coast.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good story.
Rather than being salty fans from other clubs should look at how we became successful.

Stack - Nothing Pick
Pickett - Nothing Pick
Grimes- Nothing Pick
Lambert - Nothing Pick
Short - Nothing Pick
Baker - Nothing Pick
Castagna - Nothing Pick
Soldo - Nothing Pick
Chol - Nothing Pick
Houli - Walked to us for nothing

Its hard to get used to but the real reason Richmond is on the rise is because of 2 things it was extremely useless at for such a long time.
Reconsing talent...
Developing talent...

Numerous other player picked up in picks between 40s and 50s as well. Special mention to Jack Graham.

Think the Collingwood and GWS trades were relatively even in the end.

Adams for Shaw was a direct swap - win/win if I’ve ever seen one
Treloar was basically for two first rounders and a lower end pick swap - GWS used the first round picks as points for Hopper, Setterfield and Perryman
Hoskin-Elliott for a future second rounder (ended up pick 25 in 2017) - GWS used it in the Smith to Essendon trade

Carlton have recruited more from GWS than all the other teams put together. It's just not documented as much as Collingwood because they're all duds expect maybe Machbank & Plowman.

Setterfield will be better than those two.

2011 AFL Draft, Collingwood effectively picked up three
[picked underage, could have been pick 1] Adam Treloar, GWS --> Collingwood
Pick 4 - Will Hoskin-Elliot, GWS --> Collingwood
Pick 13 - Taylor Adams, GWS --> Collingwood

These players are now in their prime, and unsurprisingly they've become vital pieces in two of the most talented sides in the comp. If GWS/Gold Coast never existed, it's likely a bunch of them would have been drafted elsewhere. Just looking at the 2009 AFL ladder, you'd have Port Adelaide pick 7, Essendon pick 9, Brisbane pick 11 for the 2010 crop. For 2011 (ignoring Gold Coast) you'd have West Coast pick 1, Brisbane pick 4, Bulldogs pick 13.

It's really unlikely that Richmond and Collingwood would have had as easy a time poaching players off Essendon, the Bulldogs and West Coast.

Obviously the clubs had to have the home grown talent to have a contending list that would be attractive to homesick talent, which is why other teams with similar prestige like Carlton haven't been able to quite do the same, but I think this unusual period of history has given Richmond and Collingwood the edge to be the best in the comp, rather than simply 'very good'.

34: Wells
32: Dunn, Goldsack,
31: Pendlebury, Varcose,
30: Reid, Greenwood, Mayne,
29: Howe, Beams,
28: Thomas, Cox, Roughead, Siddebottom,
27: Elliot

Collingwood have been very good but I wonder if they will raise their game the next couple seasons and challange again or start a decline?
