The older guys look terrible and the younger guys just aren't stepping up, and some (like Sheridan) probably never will. Just depressing.

I really liked what I saw from Blakely though. Weller is good in flashes, but can he please put it together for a full game once to give everyone some hope that he could be a genuine star? We need some bloody hope this season. Pearce has been giving us that and now he's gone. FFS. Kill this season. Kill it with fire.

He wasn't as noticeable as Blakely but ran and tackled hard and was on the end of a goal. Good effort.

Needs to stay in.

Definite upgrade on Sheridan, Suban and even D Pearce.
Had a few shots on goal as well. Could've nailed a set shot. At least he is getting involved.

Been feeling fairly happy with some 'honourable' losses against Adelaide, GWS and the Hawks but last night really put things back into perspective.

In my darkest thoughts; I see a coach and coaching panel that's made some serious miscalculations in trading opportunities, drafting choices and strategy development. I see an old, broken list - the older players who've seen the game gone past them, and younger players that will just never reach the heights of AFL stardom. I see serviceable youngsters that are certainly refreshing to watch but in no way the next Fyfe, Pavlich, McPharlin, Sandi etc. I see an irrelevant game plan in the modern age, with the output being something that footy fans revolt from en masse.

In my lighter thoughts; I see a highly-skilled and intelligent coach that's never been in this predicament before, and has the strength to turn things around, albeit slowly. I see an older list that will naturally give way to the next generation of Footballers, I see out of form/injured players coming back and having a real go of things - I see Morabito as a success story, Bennell as the X-factor we need, A. Pearce as the next McPharlin, Fyfe to win at least another 2 Brownlow's. I see one of the biggest list shake-ups seen in history at the end of the year, with us finally getting the high-draft picks and trades that we need. I see Ross Lyon evolving his game plan that see's us playing an incredibly unique (and exciting) brand of football.

Living in both of these worlds is hard.

That would bring him in notice of the footy gods though, and they'd cut him down ala Hase, Palmer, Barlow, Fyfe, Mora, Bennell, Sandy and now AP.

Suban had 21 touches that was about more than Langdon and Weller had combined.

So what?

Are they effective? Do they have a positive impact on the game? The team? The state of play?

At least what Langdon does shows effort, insight and some ability to affect what an opposition player is doing/going to do as well as having a positive impact on teammates.

Your lovechild Suban is a 100 game plus player who averages 10-12 possessions a game and usually has no impact whilst giving away stupid free kicks, holding the ball and trying to play rugby.

Was at the game last night. Blakely continues to grow. Hughes is showing signs of a good player. Weller and Langdon had their moments. I think crozier at half back should be persisted with also liked the run that mayne gave out of D50 when he went back there in last Q. now with Alex done for year and dawson to be rubbed out I think we need to play mayne down back and give Collins a go or promote tanner smith onto main list and play him down back.

Very disappointed with method going into our F50. kicking the ball continually up high was mana from heaven to Tiger backs. Also with mundy gone again with calf injury opens door for barlow to come back in.

Yep, pretty much sums it up. Trying really hard to live in the latter.

suban is garbage. i lost count of the amount of times he got the ball and fell over from 0 pressure, bloke is worse than brett peake.
Brett peake is pretty good with east freo now.

We are all upset by the less and current position but cmon. Lets not get silly here.

im not really that upset, most freo supporters should have seen this coming. how long could we play people like mzungu, suban, sutcliffe etc and still expect to remain competitive.

this season has been quite interesting because at least we get to see the younger guys out on the field.

The problem is we got nobody left in the reserve who else.

I for one, am surprised you can get away with such an insult these days

Yep, tore us (Peel) apart. Kinda like when he'd tear us apart, expect that was when he played for us

The so what is that Ross unlike you values what Suban does so he gets picked. Ross doesn't have to have your approval to pick who he wants and thank goodness for that.

WTF are you talking about? If you're going to used statistics as a measurement of a player's ability, at least argue the point.

Lyon's approval doesn't make Suban an good player. He picks players like Suban to suit his agenda and outdated game plan.

Your 'Ross Lyon is God and knows everything' mantra has already been exposed as a fallacy.
