no.
Last year the hunger was
Still there and we only played badly because of injuries.
This year it’s completely different.
There are so many things wrong I don’t know where to start.
Won’t make the 8 but with some shrewd trading and drafting and some retirements, we could contend again in 2021.
nice try lounge lizard. But this time it won’t come true.
I think you're going very early, it's only round 4

We will see.
We are a shadow of the side of the past three years.
Anyone can see it
Could say the same of many teams at the moment
Another month until panic stations as we can afford to drop 5 more in the next 12 games

still need to make top 4 to have a chance, especially if where finals will be played is under question. going by the last 3 years that means 11 wins should get us top 4. that means winning 10/13 from here.

not gonna happen. we are struggling to score 50 points, and many of the guys including the coaches have come back woefully underdone and underprepared. by the time we even become competitive (because at the moment we arent, honestly who would anyone tip us to beat right now, maybe adelaide) we will either need to win 12 in a row again to take the flag (not gonna happen twice), or would have lost too many to be able to catch up.

im just waiting for the point in the season where the club realises the year is gone and starts giving games to some of the kids. either that or starts experimenting with positions and accidentally puts players in their true positions. maybe they'll experiment and put ross graham or caddy in the bounce to be a big body and win some hard ball, put broad down back instead of the ruck and wing, put jack at chf instead of having him and lynch coming out of the square, and (shock horror) play 2 ruckmen or at least someone like chol who can be ruck and forward.

And we've lost to Hawthorn and St Kilda and the Saints are a good team now.

We could jag an interstate win against a fellow Top 4 fancy and we have 2 points from another already and we haven't played anyone rubbish.

Every team will drop plenty, Geelong lost to Carlton!
Let's hold our 'world is ending' posts for when we have played Freo, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney...

do u really want the unicorn flag though ?
I'm not letting some virus get in the way of our b2b again
Imagine sending out a few champs as 3 timers

I see what you did there!! 🤞🐯

Too early to say really but it does have the feeling of those seasons in the 00s when we would crap the bed over the first half and then come home strong, only to finish outside the eight. There’s probably a lot of salty oppo fans who would rather see us finish 9th than watch their team win a premiership

That’s basically what we did last year but we won the flag

You say that after round 3 last year?
After round 4 last year we had 8 points and 18 games to catch up, and were playing poorly because we had probably 5 of our top 8 players injured.

After round 4 this year we have 6 points and 13 games to catch up, and are playing poorly even though we have everyone available.

Big big difference

Sorry to say Loungey, although I admire your efforts to lift us to glory yet again, history says we will just have to wait. This year we miss the finals. Next year we make the finals but don’t make the GF. 2022 we make the GF and get upset. Then we get to punch the f*ck out of Carlton to take the 2023 flag and that is the bit I am really looking forward to, there cannot be anything more pleasurable than going the knuckle against the Blues. Then we go b2b in 24. It’s all just a little bit of history repeating. :)

Pretty sure we didn't have many injuries round 2 where we got thumped.

We also had injuries to the bye, so we didn't even start our catch up to mid year. This year we don't have injuries so can start our catch up as soon as some effort gets put in. 13 games is more than enough to make up 1 and half games on Gold Coast lmao

Were also only 2 points outside the 8. Top 4 is the goal, but if we hit form like we did last year then we can do damage from outside the 4.

We sit half a game out of the 8 and one and a half games out of the 4
Post bye last year we were 2 games and percentage out of the 4, with 9 games to go. We made it.

This season is weird and will have a very tight ladder. Teams are very inconsistent owing to the ever changing dynamics of the season.

Gold Coast will beat Geelong this weekend and Port will lose to Brisbane. Gold Coast will be top of the ladder and Gil will announce that the AFL season is cancelled for the 'health and safety of the players'. They will have no choice but to give Gold Coast the premiership and Matt Rowell the Brownlow.
