The whole debate is moot anyway.

Your Pres has said the club will accept it.

Your coach has said he doesn't care.

It's only an old has-been and a few drongos on BF who have a differing view.

And for the love of Christ can Richmond supporters stop thinking the AFL owes them anything just cos they haven't reached a granny in 35 years? It's mostly due to your own incompetence!

You cannot mandate a clash earlier in the season and then change just for a granny.

It was the right and only decision.

I would support them getting rid of a Rich Adel clash in future years but you can't change mid season
If something is wrong, the only incorrect decision you can make is to wait to fix it.

Got to love how people are putting up pictures of 2 jumpers and saying they don’t look the same. Ofcoarse they dont look the same, they’re different jumpers. However when there’s a bunch 20 or 30 players in a small vicinity of each other all fighting for the ball, all you can notice is a dark jumper mixed with bright colours. It looks s***

Check when Essendon played Adelaide earlier this year at AO. Even more of a clash - saved by white shorts that made all the difference.

I'm surprised they didn't think of white shorts for the away team years ago..........................................

Common sense prevails.

The AFL has confirmed Adelaide will wear its traditional home guernsey in the 2017 Toyota AFL Grand Final as the higher-ranked team at the end of the home and away season.

Richmond will don its yellow clash guernsey with black sash.

AFL General Manager Football Operations, Andrew Dillon, said the AFL executive had determined that, as the Adelaide Crows had entered the Grand Final as the highest-ranked side, they would wear the Club’s home Guernsey.

“The AFL legislates that the home team has the right during the home and away season, and it was the view here that with a clash, the AFL had previously made this decision fro the higher-ranked team to have its choice,” he said.

The Crows claimed the McClelland Trophy for finishing atop the 2017 AFL Ladder, while the Tigers ended the season in third position.
Gillon McLachlan just last week.
"I don't think there's a home team [for the grand final]. The highest-ranking team gets the advantage of a longer break because you've got to make a decision on that, but in the end it's not a home final."

Is there anything that the AFL doesn't make up on the run?

i know right?

both jumpers have a similar dark base as the predominant colour, and similar minor colours as trim. there isn't much of a contrast between the two match-day opponents, but nuffies require them to be virtually identical to be deemed an issue.

perhaps the League should go back to just selling the match of the round broadcast rights too, because that's the way it was done. when the League accepts billions of $$$ for the rights to televise matches, then it has to ensure that every match-day is visually presentable.

Richmond should just tell the AFL they will be wearing their traditional get up with white shorts. This is such a farce. There isn't any clash. Only clash comes when numbers are the same color

What a load of bollocks! Just follow the sheep...I actually like Adelaide the city, it would be a great place if there weren't any people in it!

I reckon this year's version of the Richmond yellow with black sash looks pretty good, nice clean design that will look fine as the years roll on and people look back at the game. It has a bit of a classic look about it, even if it's not classic Richmond, and as long as they don't go too fluoro.

What part of that is bullocks? The pres and coach are on record saying exactly that.

So the part you must take exception to is that you think the AFL does owe Richmond something for their prolonged mediocrity?
