But it's not even the posters narrative. They just explained what the AFL have said in those 2 separate occasions. In conclusion, the AFL have no policy in place. They just make it up as they go.
It was mentioned to show the AFL as inconsistent.... that IS the posters narrative. Don't be obtuse now.

I'm saying it's an irrelevant thing to mention. It doesn't compare because the bottom line is the west coast wore white shorts with their standard away strip. Not their clash strip.... The tigers are being forced to wear a clash strip. Not an away strip. Again, it's pointless to mention ladder positions when the greater argument to be had is about "why isn't it just white shorts vs coloured shorts"

Keep up.

You ignored the other point.

West Coast were given away team status for the game. Their away jumper didn't clash with Hawthorns home jumper.

Richmond are given away team status for this game and are obliged to wear the away strip. The AFL have this year deemed Richmonds regular away strip to be a clash, so they then have to wear the clash.

You may think I'm lagging behind, but I'm just about to overlap you. Keep up please.

The President and CEO are just part of the "Big Club" family, toeing the company line put down by "mad" Gil. I don't see a clash, Richmond should've shown some balls! Clash strips are part of Gil's deal for overseas distribution, he doesn't give a fat rats tossbag about Richmond supporters or anyone else for that matter.
Yeah ok cool rant but your opinion doesn't change the facts.

Nice little conspiracy you have cooking but the facts remain the facts.

Richmond WILL wear their clash.

Common sense prevails.

The AFL has confirmed Adelaide will wear its traditional home guernsey in the 2017 Toyota AFL Grand Final as the higher-ranked team at the end of the home and away season.

Richmond will don its yellow clash guernsey with black sash.

AFL General Manager Football Operations, Andrew Dillon, said the AFL executive had determined that, as the Adelaide Crows had entered the Grand Final as the highest-ranked side, they would wear the Club’s home Guernsey.

“The AFL legislates that the home team has the right during the home and away season, and it was the view here that with a clash, the AFL had previously made this decision fro the higher-ranked team to have its choice,” he said.

The Crows claimed the McClelland Trophy for finishing atop the 2017 AFL Ladder, while the Tigers ended the season in third position.
There is no way on this earth that Richmond should wear its clash jumper.
If I was Richmond I would pay the fine and tell the AFL dictators to go stuff themselves .

I was the one that said this to you and you parrot me in the very next reply about me? Perfect retort... if you're 12 years old ;)

Simply put.. I don't care what the AFL deems. Hence why I "ignored" the other point -- Because imo the greater argument than you two howlers at the wind is that white shorts vs coloured shorts has worked for 10, 20, 30 years. We've had TV coverage of the GF that whole time, as well. So I don't buy the argument there either.

Again JackFlash you nail it. This post from you is the most relevant post in all the hundreds on this topic

In interview on 360 he basically admitted international audience is his primary concern, talk about not knowing where your bread is buttered.

The bloke is out of touch. If he spent less time exercising his ego on marriage laws he could have got more impt issue for head of afl right.
I saw that too and immediately hit the bullshit button on the remote...(they should have one) What's next? Telling supporters to wear the clash strip also so it doesn't clash with the Crows fans? Most of the real fans won't get into the game anyway... Gil has had a bad year and needs to stop and consider his position in the top gig. He has completely lost touch with the average fan, the fan that only cares about their team, they follow them through thick and thin, they love the colours, the playing strip and the players, they jump up and down and raise the roof when they win, they jump up and down and kick a box or microwave their memberships if they lose, but they are back the next week living in hope. Tigers fans have been living in hope for 37 years! This has been a lousy finals series, without the Tigers it would be the worst GF of all time. It's very disappointing to see their own board let their fans down by rubbing Gil's cods! Attendances were up this year and i think that has gone to Gil's head. Don't bite the hand that feeds Gil.
Gil runs the biggest club of all and we ain't invited to join folks! l

My original post was directed at

"The AFL actually making a decision based on sporting integrity, common sense and fairness... I'm still in shock!"

My response was to show him that this is not the case and that they in fact just make it up on the fly.

This howler in the wind could not give two ****s who wears what on grand final day, it's irrelevant and should they get up and win, then for history purposes they can all put their correct guernseys on to get their photos taken.

Maybe Adelaide should refuse to have to play at the MCG then?

We play in a professional league with billion dollar tv rights. Part of that is accepting that you might have to wear your second guernsey if there is a clash for tv.
Make a good looking clash jumper and suck it up or go back to some semi professional suburban competition.

I like this "play it at Adelaide/domain/skilled" rhetoric. I can't imagine the whinging should that occur when people can't get a ticket to the game once they've allocated the required tickets to sponsors and players etc. or is that all irrelevant just as long as you have a home ground advantage

We could wear green and orange spotted leotards for all I care.

I do find it funny that the issue is with the clashing of the yellows. So they make the Tiges wear the jumper with more yellow...

It's going to be even funnier when they put the umps in yellow.

I agree with you r.e. the AFL's clash policy but I'm pleasantly surprised the AFL made the right call for Saturday's game, was genuinely expecting them to bend over to Richmond as a supposed "big 4" club. The moment when Gil said he believed there is a clash anything other than Crows in home and Tiges in clash would have been outright wrong

Right decision. I actually think the jumper is a great clash one.

comparing the two richmond strips vs Adelaide, the dusty one is the correct decision. a lot less of the dark colours which are predominant on both home jumpers.

The GF will present with two clearly opposing teams, like the preliminary finals. And that's good for all of us watching on television.

West Coast were the 'home' team in 2015, hence Hawthorn wore white shorts. We chose to wear royal blue. The only way we would've clashed with Hawthorn is by wearing our gold jumper anyway, and thank **** no GF was subjected to your power ranger jumper.

I'm probably in the minority but I really like Richmond's clash jumper. The colours are reversed but it's clearly Richmond. Better than some of the horrendous generic white jumpers going around.

While the crows finished 1st and have to play their home game at the opposition's home ground.. The tigers are up in arms about having to wear the away strip... Lol
What a stupid issue for tige fans to get up in arms abt. RFC board have accepted it to focus on the game. Talk abt getting priorities wrong.

I just want to win the flag. They could wear cam or a tutu for all i care. Though our alrernative strip is pretty good in my opinion.
