Did you see the Essendon v Melbourne GF in 2000? The AFL don't want another poor visual spectacle due to both teams in dark based jumpers with a common secondary colour. There should be a clear contrast.
Yes,
i watched the 2000 GF and not once did i think to myself "shit! i can't tell the difference between the two teams"
maybe people don,t eat enough carrots these days?

Crap decision. In roubd 4 crows and dons bith wire their tops...no clash. Yet rich and crows clash.
Afl mucked up by allowing new teams into comp wearing similar colour tops.
No teams waring predominantly yellow teal green red for example:thumbsdown:

There were about 3 or 4 times in that Adelaide Essendon game where a player made a quick direct turnover from a pack because they got the guernseys confused.....

Right decision.

I don’t listen to a lot of what KB says, but his stance on this is so poor that if he posted his views on BigFooty he’d likely be reported for trolling. I get his passion, but a large part of his anger at the decision being that Richmond have been in the competition longer than Adelaide? That’s the kind of rationale that has many ‘interstate’ fans believing the national competition is anything but national.

As for describing the away strip as looking like canaries.....a proud Sandgroper who loved our old SoO jumpers says go and get stuffed.

That game was a clear clash. Adelaide when playing in Melbourne against Essendon, wears its clash. Why? Clear clash.

What clash in the 2000 GF? Theres a really simple rule if youre struggling to follow that game. If a player has the footy or the ball is headed towards a someone, then its an Essendon player. And if you saw a player standing around not doing much with a genuinely perplexed look on their face, then thats a Melbourne player.

Pretty straight forward i would have thought.
