It's a stupid call; the clash such as it is can be overcome with white shorts.

But then your playing in a GF so who gives a shit.
Yeah most people are like this. No one has will power anymore to fight for principles, much easier to just roll over and accept our lot.

Made the GF nothing else matters.

This attitude also explains why our politicians get away with so much. We roll over so much they don't even have to pretend they respect what people want

If we could play Richmond in the GF at AO instead of the MCG (Richmonds home ground) I couldnt give a crap if we wore these jumpers
View attachment 419710

Richmond have got the biggest leg up in the game and get a home ground advantage while another team has to travel.
Fair call mate, and it's a bit like Hawthorn two years ago beating West Coast in Melbourne despite West Coast finishing above them on the ladder that season.

Shows how illogical "clash" is
Richmond normal Guernsey 80% black 20% yellow
Adelaide guernsey40% blue, 30% yellow, 30% red
The supposed clash is between Adelaide's 40% blue which is surrounded by red stripes and a Guernsey that is 80% black. In 10 years time new AFL directors will look back on poor decisions like this and just shake their head in wonder.

Why can't AFL compromise if this exercise in idiocy is so important to them and get Richmond to modify their back or make sash slightly wider
Adelaide's jumper is 60% dark 20% yellow and 20% red
Richmond's is 70% dark and 30% yellow

It's a pretty straightforward clash in any professional sporting organisation.

I personally hate watching a match between 2 teams with similar shade jumpers. If there’s one sport in the world that needs clash strips it’s this one. You can’t have both teams wearing predominantly dark strips. All you notice in a pack of 20 players in dark jumpers mixed with yellow. Terrible watching at the ground and television. People don’t understand that the purpose of a clash strip is to make one team dark and the other light. Or just completely different to their opponents such as when Carlton play Sydney.

Jennifer Lawrence haha she thinks "Mother Nature" directs natural disasters on countries depending on how they voted. Must explain why Mexico got an earthquake, right? If she's your role model good luck
You clearly missed the point champ. Having a discussion with you is like trying to explain physics to a dog.

Enjoy the footy and remember that the team in the nice yellow tops is Richmond. Enjoy ;)

That's cute. It's very high minded but what does fighting for principles look like in this case? Throwing a strop on AFL 360?

They win, no one will give a shit what they were wearing. They lose and everyone will want to forget the game anyway.

Finishing top is irrelevant. People who make that their argument are purely just following the spin from AFL Moscow Gulag Central. They change their rules as they go along to meet their social engineering agenda.

He (PoloGil and his executive friends) are just trying to engineer the game into something he (Polo-Gil) wants. Has he even CONSIDERED asking his constituents (ie the fans) what they want?

No because he would most likely tell you " for the good of the game he is providing leadership". This is the same type of Orwellian language one gets from politicians. He is from the same social set as the Turnbulls & Shortens of the world. Fake info to deceive. People swallow their lies as it is easier to do it than thinking.

Like I said in previous post, I am willing to put in $350 of my own money if it would assist the Tigers in wearing what they are meant to wear. This club has meant a lot to thousands of people before Gil came into this life on his pony, and in his 4WDrive. And it will mean something to people when he is gone. Richmond supporters deserve to watch re-runs on video of their team without thinking every ten seconds...why on God's earth are they wearing that Gawd awful jumper"
No need to be cheap. I'll pay $350 so Richmond have to wear the clash strip

We're in a grand final so I'm rapt with any jumper we wear however what a load of bullshit. There isn't even a clash. Disgraceful decision.

You could also say the only colour they have the same is the yellow which makes up 20-30% of either jumper.

If Richmond wore yellow down the sides under the arm and wore yellow or white shorts then really even the nutters at AFL House or should I say Yes House would have nothing to complain about

White shorts and the traditional jumper would have worked well, but I don't care much about this right now. Just wear whatever and put in a good showing.

Wonder if they'll allow the Richmond players to change into their traditional guernsey if they end up winning the Premiership though (for the presentation).

Except she never said anything of the sort.

The need for extra clarity is exactly why Richmond should be in yellow.

there are no other teams worthy
Common sense prevails.

The AFL has confirmed Adelaide will wear its traditional home guernsey in the 2017 Toyota AFL Grand Final as the higher-ranked team at the end of the home and away season.

Richmond will don its yellow clash guernsey with black sash.
Are you for ******* real?
It is the opposite of common sense.
What an absolute wank.
Both teams should be wearing what they normally wear.
THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN COMMON-SENSE

Common sense

Fremantle wore their clash against us as well, but in 2014 and 2015 I think the shorts colour was the only thing changed. Eagles had gold. It's just so random, let the teams wear their real jumpers, everyone knows they don't clash (yeah yeah 50% dark, whatever).

I think Gil has some hidden mental issue? Where is the clash here? Why clash strips in the first place?
In both business and our own stupid personal lives, major screw-ups are immediately followed by the inevitable major screw-up, which usually just makes the whole initial screw-up all the more screwed up.
We all knew the day would come that the AFL would screw this clash strip nonsense up....

White shorts is recognition of a clash. When the convention was decided over a hundred years ago (or whenever it was), it was beyond imaginable that Adelaide would be playing in a gf against Richmond (A team that didn't start from the beginning of the comp).

Had it be known that this poo storm would erupt. I'm sure a provision would've been made to have seperate home and away colours.

I honestly think both sides could and should have worn their traditional strip, but it took me all of 10 seconds to get over it. We're in the Grand Final.

Your sign in is "arsene Wenger" which says it all. You are largely a soccer fan who thinks soccer principles should be transferred to other games. Soccer's bigger worldwide, so football in Australia should just get in line and follow big daddy, right.

And I know NFL has away and home guernseys too, but that is their culture, not ours.

Dark, light no one was talking about this rubbish until the afl dictated it. You even now have Hawthorn wearing a clash Guernsey, brown and yellow stripes Apparently caused confusion as brown is such a popular colour

**** the networks. Worried that the home viewers will struggle to distinguish the teams. Sick of the AFL kowtowing to these people. Partnership my ass. So what if they paid 2 billion dollars. Doesn't give them the right to **** with a hundred years of tradition. Why don't Richmond grow a pair, and stand for something. Instead of the other 17 clubs whining when the Pies refused to relent, why didn't they join the fight? When are the clubs going to stand together on an issue, any issue, instead of bickering among themselves. Richo was whining about this issue tonight on the air. Does he know it's his bosses fault? Why doesn't he get his boss on the line. Ask him directly. Get him to explain himself. In fact, get him to do an eye test. Here's one:

g. e. t. y. o. u. r.
g. r. u. b. b. y.
h. a. n. d. s.
o. f. f. o. u.
r. g. a.
m. e.

And here's a message for Bartlett. (And my condolences to Tigers fans, because I know what it's like to have a past player who's dumber that a block of wood, and even worse when he has a voice on radio for 3 hours every day). He obsesses with the Pies away strip, and mocks it for being black on white, instead of white on black. Has he not noticed that there's an unequal number of B&W stripes? This means it looks significantly different inverted. And has he not noticed that the stripes have disappeared completely from the back of the Pies jumper this year? So there you go. The Pies have relented after all. They shouldn't have. Nor should anyone else.

100 years ago white shorts would have worked perfectly! Maybe we should just go with that tradition, have everyone wear shorts that go below the knee so the white shorts are REALLY obvious and then both sides can wear their home jumper!

Maybe just me but I think the clash jumper is more of an issue considering the yellow on the shoulders of both the crows home and tigers away kits.

Personally I think white shorts would have been an obvious solution.

Was never a problem for how long?

Anyway I don't give a damn just happy to be there next week........
