Could Grimes, Astbury and Rance be the single best 'line' of any position in the AFL? Probably right up there with Walker, Betts and Jenkins.

Rance is more of a running player but Astbury has well and truly lived up to the moniker I put on him at the end of last season...

Loved the look he gave Macintosh when Mac missed the spoil. Macintosh then spoiled the hell out of everything for the rest of the game. Definitely turning the backline into the mans club.

now it's 2021 and Big Dave now is a 3 times premiership player, who schooled his opponenents in big finals and got to go out on his own terms.........and the cream on top is....

Agree . I thought he was so undervalued by the media etc and even some of our supporters. I reckon he was an A grader .
I think Tarrant is a grand and wise replacement.

Dave was a shut down specialist, with some extra strings attached. Absolutely under rated. Genuinely should have made the AA team. But not sexy enough for the commentariat.
