I think mostly it's because we always disappoint. How many games over the least 20 odd years have we gone in a favourites or into pressure games and completely flunked. We get built up, and do so a bit ourselves (like every other supporters), then we crash out and everyone goes typical Richmond. And fair enough. Even when we were playing good footy with Richo/Knights etc, Richo would miss a clutch goal and we'd bomb out.
Other supporters admire our passion but we have been a bit of a joke, even the most ardent supporter (and I've followed the Tiges for 50 years) has to admit it. But things have changed a bit this season as we finally seem to have a decent admin and new coaching staff and a guy like Balme and some kids who can play and really have a crack. So we are quietly up and about but other than some enjoyment after a win we are still pretty aware that it is a long season, and anything can happen... and given that it is Richmond, probably will.
