Strong rumours of one more (maybe 2) free agents/trades to come, and we need the extra picks for this.

suspect we will know more after the trade period and second round of delistings.

Who are they -do you know? Are they ruckmen?

Don't pick on those three. Anyone who wasn't in the 22 named from rounds 2 to 8 would be surplus if we can upgrade on them. The FA week and trade time could see huge changes or only two!!!! I'm actually a little excited to see what unfolds over the month of October. Just need to find something to amuse me for September!

Just going off the media reports and net chatter

off memory one report had us chasing a tall back (Chaplin), a HFF (Knights), an in and under mid, and either a CHF or a ruck (heard both versions).

the CHF was probably Cloke (now dead), no idea who the ruck options are. BF rumours have had Thomas or Banner as the likely midfielder (Banner firming in recent days)

Won't free agency mean that there is barely anyone in the PSD? Players who are cut from a list can just go to the club of their choice and bypass the drafts.

most are predictable, Webberley/Browne couldn't deliver, Piva struggled all year
Disappointed to see Gibson go, had a real x factor about him, thought there was a lot more to come from him

Surprised to see Derickx and Darrou survive, none offered much at all at VFL Senior level, never was convinced either of them could make it

Could they send him to Coburg for a year while freeing up space on the rookie list ? Would of thought that may be a smart move, same with 1 or 2 others ?

I was thinking more along the lines though of there possibly being a few kids who'll walk from the Gold Coast.

If we could get to a point where the Whites and McGuanes of our list are not the 1st depth players picked but the last, we will have a serious team. Be realistic people, these 2 would easily be better than most players at the bottom of the selection pile at every club.

Wouldn't Miller as an upgrade still count as a rookie spot like A. Maric?

If so that only leaves 5 main list spots free. We have to take a minimumof 3 spots and there's supposed to be up to 3 FA's headed our way.

Surely they'll be more spots freed up not counting trades? I'll be annoyed if we only go 3 deep in the National Draft.

I'd be serious in supporting this. Both these guys are comfortably inside the 30+ we need to get through a season. Upgrade 'em, sure but if nothing other than a very late draft pick is on offer, I'd be more than happy they stayed.

If Gold Coast doesn't offer them a contract I think they can then become free agents, if they decline a contract offer they have to go through the draft as I understand it
