Was santa including rookies, probably find he wasn't. Regardless, pretty sure you'll find many a poster agreed with santa on that, so no idea where the irony comes from. What a silly thing to say.

More likely that people didn't like the fact that santa would add that we're shit and have useless idiots in charge of list management, that he could do ten times a better job, etc.

That and including Nahas and Edwards in there

Many a time he was taken to task over suggesting we would have upward of 7 delistings and therefore it's not silly at all especially when you now consider that many are now claiming we haven't cut deep enough . He wasn't flawless but on this case he was certainly correct .
As for our list management , he most certainly wasn't/isn't on his own in thinking that we have room for improvement , this thread is evidence of people questioning our list management.

Oh the irony , old mate Santa was mentioning upward of 7 delistings list chanes and was shot down . Now we have some questioning whether we need to but deeper . McGuanne and White as proven this year are more than capable of relieving for injuries , we get genuine midfielders (x3) who can play to a similar level , should we get a injury or 2, and we'll play finals no doubt.
Our top end is fine our bottom end is terrible , coming from where we have I am more than happy that we are using the tail end of our list on mature aged players who can come in and give relief to our younger developing stars . It will ultimately give us a better chance of developing players like O'hanlon , Helbig rather than them being forced to come up and cover for injuries .
Graham stays as a release ruckman , Post KPD, McGaunne KPF and White medium sized who can play anywhere .
Got no idea why Derickx stayed .

santa was saying 7 main list delistings and we are only at 5 i think. derickx is being kept as insurance as you still need ruck depth with at least 4/5 players able to do the job at varying levels of development.

Why wasn't Tom Derickx delisted with them? Does nothing in the VFL all year. Has struggled to hold a spot in the ruck or up forward with Coburg so he was pushed back. Was a little better but barely VFL standard. This guy is 25 and was a mature aged pick up. 2nd year on the list. As far as I'm concerned Browne >>>>>> Derickx by a mile. At least Browne could dominate VFL.

Also, Browne is a better option than Graham but Angus was contracted from a previous poor deal from Craig Cameron on decent coin. White, McGuane also need to go.

Not if they are replaced with players less capable
Then we won't have looked very hard if that happens.

What does Mcguane have to do to earn some respect? Never made it as a defender but has done his job as a 2nd forward this year. Not only has he been taking marks and kicking goals, but he does the hard stuff when the ball is in opposition hands. Considering this was his first year playing forward at AFL level, he surely deserves another chance.

Ranked 8th in the team for average tackles per game with 3.4 this year, and 15 goals in 9 games, if he played 20+ games he was on target for a 30+ goals season, then would you be saying the same thing??

I'm fairly confident McGoof wouldn't kick 30 in a year, spuds like him might kick 2 or 3 in dead rubbers againdst crap sides but they invariably go missing in the pressure of important games against good sides.

Second chance? More like 9th chance. Sick of these hanging on to these hacks forever. How worse can an unproven kid or state player be than a proven dud? Experienced at being crap ain't experience worth a damn in my book.

Agree. Well said.

But this is Richmond. Duds like McGuane and White will probably stay.

i also would like browne over gus and would like to rookie him. as for tom we still need ruck depth plus considering he still has had only 2 years into the afl system(1 injured) so i would have thought this is the reason. plus he is also able to play in various positions as well. i would give him another year.

Depth is only useful if they can come and play a role well to a decent standard. As I said above Derickx even struggled at VFL level. He was gifted a couple AFL games late on and was hopeless. As a 25 year old that should spell immediate delist.

I will be staggered if he stays on the list, absolute staggered. Definition of a list clogger.

Disappointed to see Turner delisted. Only played about 5 games this year because of injury and when he did play he showed a bit could have easily kept him on the list for another year.

Looks like a fairly major cleanout again. 9 at the first opportunity. Looking to trade a few more and see what else happens. So I wouldn't be surprised to see another 2 at least. You can't really cut everyone that isn't great every year. It'd be too disruptive.
The lucky ones are Gus and X. I would expect from that the tiges will go after a ruck or two from the state leagues this year.
It'll be an interesting trade and draft period. We are after depth in trades and mids in the draft by the look of it. Completely agree with that.

Pat Contin - rookied again, if not a late/last round pick for the main list.

White - no trade value - anywhere, ever...and as for the person who suggested McGuane could realise a 2nd round pick...parallel universe, perhaps?
