I would be thinking 1000 members a week from now on so end of June roughlyThat’s a great result ... when do you think we’ll hit 100k (assuming 75% capacity in Melbourne is announced soon)?

Yes, it's been like that for a few weeks and they haven't bothered sorting it.Has anyone else had an issue where they can't reset the password to their Richmond account - as the email that you're meant to receive in order to reset the password never arrives ? I've checked my spam folder but it's not there - and I've tried a few times ...
I know for a fact they offer FREE memberships to thousands of primary and secondary students in the Northern suburbs
As well as numbers, I'd like to see membership dollars. Reckon that would embarrass clubs like Carlton and Hawthorn.
lots of rumours about clubs fiddling membership figures but doesn't the afl audit this stuff?
Not sure. Each clubs Revenue Statement should state membership dollars, but it's not a figure that's bandied around.
Think the AFL rules are
*Have to pay a certain amount
*Have to get sent a pack
*Have to get match day access
*Have to be purchased before a cut off date (think it’s usually July 31)
Not sure about clubs actually pulling numbers out of their arse, but for their own figures some clubs definitely use a different definition - in 2017 we included Rance/Rioli members that were bought after the cut off, I think Adelaide count free email members.
blooze will be -20- 30,000 after the audit this year lol1) all clubs offer kids and migrants free memberships, including us. These are not included in the official tallys, and frankly are usually just a few thousand
2) to be included in the AFL tally, you must meet three criteria (this is a few years old, so the dollar value may have changed):
- minimum value of $50
- must have individual persons full records (ie name and address and phone/email)
- must receive a membership pack in return
match day access is not a criteria.
Please also note the individual record requirement. There was a myth Hawthorn was juicing its membership tally by including 4 people for a family membership, when only 3 barcodes (for example) were issued. This is wrong. The club need to receive individual records for every person to be included in the tally, and no record means you dont count.
3) Most clubs but not us do provide a separate line for the membership revenues in their annual report. We dont, as we combine it with merchandise. The Industry Board hasnt consolidated the 2020 numbers yet, but here are the 2019:
- West Coast - $34,700,713
- Richmond - $29,645,214 (includes Merchandise)
- Collingwood - $23,871,536
- Adelaide - $21,497,388
- Fremantle - $20,659,207
- Geelong - $18,055,330
- Hawthorn - $17,809,149
- Sydney - $16,375,126
- Essendon - $16,098,158
- Melbourne - $15,190,267
- Carlton - $11,295,680
- St Kilda - $9,216,131
- Western Bulldogs - $9,206,996
- North Melbourne - $8,035,194
- Gold Coast - $7,301,203
- Brisbane - $6,057,458
- GWS - $4,418,738 (includes merch)
to give an idea of merch numbers, this is what the clubs had in their annual reports. I'd expect ours to be somewhat higher given it was a GF year
- West Coast - $3,939,331
- Geelong - $2,368,611
- Essendon - $1,844,974
- Hawthorn - $1,840,054
- Fremantle - $1,414,662
- Carlton - $1,372,793
- Western Bulldogs - $1,195,131
- Melbourne - $1,081,232
- Sydney - $766,558
- North Melbourne - $765,518
- Brisbane - $714,133
- St Kilda - $513,703
