The Melbourne papers have been awash with "Richmond in Crisis" type stories. That is worrying. Rohan Connolly reckons the club should announce now that Frawley won't be re-appointed for next year, reckons that they have sub-standard players - named names to boot. Terry Wallet says that they play too safe, don't take risks.

Nothing more galvanising than being written off, with the added support of a home crowd to roar them along (they might eat their own at Tigerland, but when they get a sniff, their fans are very loud). I know the same pressure is on in Adelaide, but home city advantage might mean something here.
Don't care what press reports are here in Vic, seen the tigers, their gameplan sucks, and if they beat us, WE ARE IN TROUBLE.

Just as I said on page 1 of this thread.....

We won't win this one.....there's more chance of victory against the Cats or Power in the coming weeks.

A bit of trivia.

Both Richmond and Adelaide have only scored 100 or more points three times in their last 19 games. All at AAMI for Adelaide, Docklands twice and the MCG once for Richmond.
Just as a comparison, Brisbane 11 times, Port 10 times, West Coast 9 times, Sydney 9 times, Collingwood 8 times, Essendon 8 times, St Kilda 8 times, Fremantle 5 times.

Adelaide have only done so once in their last ten (AAMI), Richmond twice (both at Docklands).

But Adelaide have conceded 100 or more points only 5 times in their last 19 games, whereas Richmond have done so 11 times, hence Adelaide finished higher last season.

Whoever scores 100 or more points will probably win this game.

Are Adelaide capable of doing so? Richmond are if both Richo and Brown play.

NOTE: Why did I use a funny figure like 19 games?
Because before that it was doing it more regularly.

Richo definetly won't play. He pulled a hammy against St. Kilda and will miss at least a game against us.

We have really struggled to kick 100 points in a game. I reckon we could do it against Richmond but it would be a long shot.

Pencil this one down as the worst game of the season. No side will use the corridor and I think it will be a game of many skill errors. I also reckon it will be a low scoring game which will be a bit unusual for Telstra Dome.

If Carey is ever going to kick a bag this game is it.

Lol, this isn't a game, just airing my opinion...not sure what you're saying, but I take it that you don't think you'll win either...

And Wayne, I'd say we are already in big trouble.

PAfolwr, that last post was very Dan26ish...I'd watch yourself...

I think you might be right Stiffy. Here's an idea - we could park two trucks in the middle of the two centre square lines that are "parallel" with (or facing) the goals and see if any player runs into them.

(Does anyone understand that:confused: )

C'arn boys, this is a game we can, nay should, nay MUST win.

Imagine losing to Richmond .

Very true. They say Telstra Dome is a great place to watch footy because it feels like you're really up close to the players, like you're a part of the action. That'll have new meaning after Friday night.

I can't believe anyone would actually pay money to see this game, however, it's undeniable that it's a HUGE match, there's so much on the line, the season for both clubs, and potentially, so are a couple of high profile jobs..the depths of despair that the loser of this game will sink to...it's just too depressing to contemplate.

The AFL could always put witches hats 30 metres inside the boundary on each side, and declare that as the new boundary - that would force both sides to play down the corridor.

Either that or clear the first 10 rows on each side of the ground to allow both teams to play their naturally wide game that they both seem to love!!:p

This is one game where we can use the corridor. If we don't use the corridor in this game then we really are a joke.

Anyone remember game against Richmond last year at Footy Park. That was a pretty bad game of footy to watch and this one won't be any different.:(

That was the worse game I watched al season Stiffy. I think you could blame one man for that game, Frawely. From the first bounce he want on the defensive, flooding and tagging all night, didn't even think about trying to win the game at any stage.

Exactly Stiffy. We have improved over our 4 games, whilst the Tigers have gone backwards. They have more key injuries than us & their game plan is a stinker. No excuses for not beating the Tigers - just need to shut down Ottens, Sugar & Brown, & forget the rest (with Cogs with OP). If we lose this Friday, I will truely be depressed, as that will be our season gone for sure.

That's ok PAfolwr your just trying to give a little light hearted relief .

I don't know about anyone else on this board but i find it a little hard to even raise a smile at the moment what with all the negative press regarding the AFC via the Advertiser & Ferret head. :(

A couple of wins for the club will make all the difference to us all & who knows we might even see a decent shower of rain up here in Whyalla in the not too distant future. :)

They could just leave the whole of level one empty and they can use it all, I know a few of the players will be at the bar waiting for the ball to come there way:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

With Reilly still out injured & Burns look likely to get a recall along with Perrie, looks like there will be only 2 changes this week. Would also grant Macca his wish to play in the midfield with hope he runs amok. If they're not going to drop Stinger with his OP, then perhaps he can play on Coughlan (also has OP) in defence, as need fit onballers who can kick properly!

Possible line-up:

B: Begley, Hentchel, Edwards
HB: Stenglein, McGregor, Massie
C: Gallagher, Ricciuto, Burton
HF: Johncock, Perrie, Jericho
F: Carey, Welsh, Bode
R: Clarke, Doughty, McLeod
I: Hudson, Smart, Schuback, Burns

IN: Perrie, Burns
OUT: Stevens, Bassett

I would think about recalling Torney against his old side but I doubt BAssett will be dropped if he is fit

Perhaps Schuback and Stevens out for Perrie and Torney in my view.

Wouldn't be upset if JT was picked. Had him in my 1st draft, but then left him out for Schuey as was under the impression he still needs more games under his belt. Bassett should be dropped IMO, as we badly need to get him back into form via Norwood (whilst we don't really need him this week).

Personally, I don't want to see Basset go to the SANFL to get back into form - I just want to see the back of him.

He might try hard but he is simply not up at AFL standard IMHO. He is too small to play on opposition FF and not agile enough to play on quicker smaller forwards.

I'm amazed he has been persevered with for so long.
