Shook hands with Beasley and Ballard for their great service and for holding a spot in a powerful team with a plethora of AFL players. Well done Tigers as you stood up to a lot of relentless attacks. Morris was outstanding with RCD Townsend Pickett Egg and Beasley.
So bloody happy we got over the first hurdle.

Won’t be popular post, umpiring not great but neither was Tiger discipline.
2nd and 3rd quarter terrible football.
Beasley and Morris fantastic.
Butler was rubbish...then setup 2 crucial goals in the last.
Hope RCD can build on that game.

Pickett is the type of player who will thrive at AFL level with better players around him.
Him and Rance as new “recruits” next year...Wowee!!

Classic VFL umpiring. You can see why we have some average AFL umpires when you see the competence of the next level down. These guys I assume are the best of the best for that level.

Missed frees (ie non-paid) were close to worse than the wrongly paid ones. And they were bad.

SEN 1116 being bombarded by calls and texts regarding the disgraceful umpiring. What a shocking display - especially that number 12. It got insane with him. Must have paid at least 7 or 8 frees in a row to Willy, most of them from 50+ metres away. Anyone thinking Willy were unlucky after Wheeler hitting the post twice in a row should consider the massive umpiring bias Willy enjoyed all game long.

There was definite ill discipline, Chol, Butler, and Miller giving away dumb frees and the 50s were silly, if very soft. But i reckon the umpires lost control, they let Willy get away with cheap shots then whistled on our retaliation.

The guy who got Butler high in a closeline tackle and went on with it when Butler was under him on the ground, the guy Chol gave away free to shoved him over out of play so he chased him, the willy players were all in Millers face grabbing his jumper and shaking him around and then paid the retaliation.

They were definately undisiplined and the umps were just loving the opportunities to pay Williamstown more frees. Just a disgrace. I find the the whole VFL biased towards stand alone clubs. The VFL channel 7 commentators included.

the umpiring was the classic favour the underdog
the lighting speed at which they paid the "retaliation" frees was a bit sickening and quickly became totally predictable

and then we trapped someone holding the ball they would swallow the whistle

that flavour is extremely likely to happen next week favouring BWS
we will have to be very clean and clinical and very disciplined

It will be Mummy's last hurrah and he will charge round like a bull in a china shop , he'll break every rule in the book and hardly give away a free

De Boer had basically clean players reacting to his tactics during the season , he'll step it up 2 notches again the umpires will develop sudden blindness
but will regain sight for even the slightest hand raised in relataliation

Richmond got heaps of free kicks in the first quarter. We were scratching our heads wondering where these umpires had been all season but then the rest of the match happened. Willie also kicked 3 or 4 OOTF.

I'm looking forward to watching the replay to see how many of them were actually there. At the ground you couldn't tell. Ikon park was really good but only one small screen... the main screen on centre wing was not even on...

True, but not all were initiated by Willy, Butler when reported was stupid, Miller can retaliate by pushing back, don’t grab the campaigner and throw him to ground, what Willy did to Chol didn’t look that bad and he goes and has a crack back.
Dumb Retaliators get done as much as instigators, always will, be disciplined and smart about it.
Suck it up.
I’m annoyed with people blaming umpires and bloody timekeepers when the team played rubbish in the 2nd and 3rd and their discipline was poor. Some playing like entitled “AFL listers” agst semi-amateurs.
They were VERY lucky that a bloke hit the post TWICE in the last minute. Unbelievably lucky actually.
I’m glad we won, but it was a terrible win. That’s my view, deserved to win for a great season, but not really on today’s performance.
Sorry, can’t help but feel this way.
If we lost I would be angry with the players, not the umpires or timekeepers.

We dodged a bullet, we got lucky, we were the better side allday but our fwd line was a disaster, no tall fwds leading up the ground, 2 missed shots inside 50 in the last minutes saved us...

Well done tigers you were the best team all year even if you played poorly last game

Best were Morris, Picket, RCD and CCJ, duds were Menadue and Moore

Butler is a dead set waste and he can go to the blues and Menadue is a bloke with pace and nothing else wont make it

The RFC got it right pulling out the right 2 players as apart from Pickett no one else is good enough or fit (Stack) enough for AFL.

CCJ will be a gun when he fills out.....
