Great to see Ryan kicking goals each week. He's already playing better than I expected for a Ruck in his first year.

I'm not saying he will be anywhere near as good, but Gawn at 208cm wasn't rated enormously as a junior going pick 34. Samson is 206cm and taken at pick 40. Sometimes you can get lucky with rucks.

The one that stands out there is the least fashionable man on our list right now. Derek. 7 tackles and 5 spoils. He seems to have had a think about how he wants to play the game. Good to see, well done Derek.

The second least fashionable, Rioli, D also seems to have had a bit of a day working on his contests, 12 contested rocks is really encouraging, and the 6 tackles also.

Hopefully this maligned pair go from strength to strength.
