clubs are not wanting to do it, even the likes of wce i believe

remember we are all likely to be still receiving less for our memberships next year, just because we wont be able to get as many punters in the seats as we are normally allowed. thats gunna put a lot of pressure on memberships cost-wise, esp after everyone received zero benefits this year

VFL and AFLW are two completely different soft caps. There's no choosing between men's and women's footy going on here at all.

Maybe not by the club but there is choosing going on at AFL head office. They have set up the separate cap system to ensure AFLW is fully funded and the women players are even getting a pay rise.

They have chosen not to see the VFL comp as being of equal importance and have not given it a seperate cap and secure its future even though those players are committing more time than the AFLW players do.

The way the VFL competition has been disrespected by the AFL for many years now is a disgrace.

When you combine this with the new under 18 coaching structure which has clearly watered down the ability to focus on male player development, we have a severely weakened feeder system going forward for the men’s game.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how this is all rolled out in 2021. There’s obvious positives to female participation in the game but they are playing with the quality of their core product here and it may come back to bite them.

No RFC controlled VFL development of our players would have been a huge step backwards for our club.

Interesting thing will be the alignment with the boys NAB program which will run alongside. So I wonder which NAB Under 19 team we would be aligned with?

Why play VFL for 3-400 bucks a game and lose every week when you could head to a gun local team for better money and win flags.

They are talking about limiting spots on the club lists for players over 22. Stand alone clubs will not be able to recruit the best possible list, they will be required to focus on developing kids coming out of the 18's comp, at least I assume that is the intent.
