Very well. Didn't do much forward but when rucking played well. He has a great leap and he's going to be pretty big when he fills out. Didn't take any marks of note, but got down and dirty and competed really hard at ground level. He's got plenty to work with.

Most promising was McAuliffe who did what none of our mids ever do, get the ball and run, backing himself in the traffic to get through it, which he did most times he got the ball.

Almost as impressive was Gray who did some great defensive work (played key back), took half a dozen marks and some amazing athletic stuff. He is dead unlucky to be playing with 4 or 5 new key young forwards, not to mention some running intercept backs.

So no Faull, Hotton, Lalor, Smillie, HRS, Lefau, Gibcus, Young, Clarke, Balta, Prestia or Lynch across both teams.

Everyone of those players could be an upgrade on the best 22 that played last night. How many best 22 were Collingwood missing? De Goey, Maynard

So save your doom and gloom for when these players are all fit and playing.
