Some positive things for me in the game:
Sonsie disposal was elite
Brown disposal was elite
Trainor lovely
Fawcett agility and ground level play
Green was producing
Mansell was busy
Hopper looked strong
Short was good
Sims will be a player
Nank was good

Our skills really let us down I’ve never seen a team drop so many marks it hurts your momentum and makes it so more difficult to compete.
We have things to work with but cannot have KMac touching the football

Short hit no targets. Nank gave away 3 gaols with poor undisciplined play. macca though he tried hard cant hit the side of a barn. Our players have low skill, there is a time now to play the kids. taranto and hooper, thier disposal is pathetic.

Absolutely…most posters here admitted that we would only win 1-3 games thisseason

However …we lose a meaningless practice match…and FMD….the clubs on fire, sack Yze…players are shite…we are in free fall


It ain’t pretty…but we will get there..trust the process …it’s a trial and error season

Guarantee this year and next will be just as bad.

this mindset baffles me.

we aren't in crisis.

we are in officially year 1 of a rebuild, after losing 1,200 games of experience, a president, a CEO, adding in 8 draftees, and now getting games into kids at a higher level that haven't had much exposure at it.

Not sure what people are expecting but I can't help but feel expectation levels need to be tempered a bit.

we are going to be hugely inconsistent this year AND next year while the players develop and grow with the game plan.


the plan itself we could see in the first quarter and a bit, and realistically with where we are with our footy, we aren't going to see it on show for more than 2 quarters such is the nature of form fluctuation with a younger side.

couple all that with Yze still sharping his list, his assistants still getting into their rhythm as well, and you come out the other side with a bit more of a realistic expectation of where things are at.

it will take time. there will be short term pain. there will be frustrating games and moments.

But it's still the way forward.

What can go wrong
The good thing is we know we will be poor and won't have unrealistic expectations. Lose by 100 which will happen ohh well we expect it lose games by 50 mostly expected anything less will be a bonus and a sigh of hope.
It's easier to expect nothing than say last season everyone was pumping us for top 4 spot.
