Nothing wrong with vigorous debate. Not like Richmond supporters are coming out and predicting we'll win the premiership next year. We have realistic 'expectations' was the point I was making.

I'm sure if we sift through some threads from about RD9 this year, we'd find a few 'delusional pearlers' coming from Essendon supporters. I have an Essendon supporting mate who was certain of a top 4 finish this year. Wouldn't shut up about it. He kinda went quiet during the second half of the season. Funny that:)

Vigorous debate, is that what it's called now. The point you were making is that Richmond have realistic expectations in comparison to Essendon, yet you picked two different points in time for each club to illustrate that comparison.

I doubt many Essendon supporters were coming out and predicting we'll win the premiership this time last year.

As for delusional pearlers from Essendon supporters, you'll have no trouble finding them at anytime. However, i dont recall ever stating that Essendon supporters are a realistic bunch in comparison to Richmond supporters.

Agree. Good post.

No I'm not, I'm one who is laughing at you of all people calling others biased deluded etc in a thread where you have called North a top 4 side not to mention the thousands of one eyed posts you have made on your many different accounts.
Teams are very close, can go either way.

There's nothing deluded about me mate, I am very realistic about North.

North are a young side on the rise that won 14 games and dropped only two games by more than 5 goals over an entire season. We beat both of last years grand finalists

Sydney*, Geelong and Fremantle will fall away over the next 24 months as crucial senior players retire. Which sides beneath North could overtake them in that period?

1) Richmond if they find 4-5 players
2) Essendon if their midfield improves at a totally unexpected rate.
3) Carlton, if Judd maintains form and they find the necessary 3-4 players.

I can't see any other side overtaking North in this time frame.

I don't think it's absurd to believe we can improve another 3 places over the next 3 years. After that, who knows? Three more drafts can change a side drastically.

*Sydneys huge salary cap advantage pending.

We won 10 and a half games with a younger side and only 1 over 4 goals. So why are North apparently so far ahead of Richmond?
And we already have the players to overtake you, the younger guys just haven't developed enough yet.

So basically: No, you don't.

We should this year. Griffiths could become a very, very good player and would make our forward line impossible to line up on. Dea, Astbury, Batchelor, Conca could all also have breakout years.
Who have will North have that they didn't have last season that can play straight away?
We added Chaplin and Knights and will regain Grimes and Vickery from injury. So that's almost like 4 new players straight into our 22 compared to last year.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if we finished above you

Agree. Good post.

Because his team is getting spanked in it
North threads are unusual because of the vocal minority pushing the cause. You only need to look on their board to see the multiply of crap irrelevant threads they create and partake of.

Must gut them to know we are rated higher.
