We win 9 from 14.

Did the ladder predictor and I wasn't kind to the Tigers. Look where we end up!

This is how I assessed the rest of our season.

(Only winning margin options are 1, 12, 30, 60 and 100 points).

Round 09 - LOSS (Haw by 30 points)
Round 10 - LOSS (STK by 12 points)

Round 11 - WIN (FREO by 30 points)
Round 12 - WIN (GWS by 60 points)
Round 13 - BYE
Round 14 - LOSS (ADEL by 30 points)
Round 15 - WIN (MELB by 60 points)
Round 16 - WIN (GC by 30 points)
Round 17 - WIN (NORTH by 30 points)
Round 18 - LOSS (CARL by 30 points)
Round 19 - WIN (BL by 30 points)
Round 20 - WIN (WB by 30 points)
Round 21 - LOSS (FREO by 30 points in Subi)
Round 22 - WIN (ESS by 1 point)
Round 23 - WIN (Port by 60 points)

Can we win 9 from 14?

Ever the optimist?

The problem is their is zero room to move in that. I'd love to make finals this year but I really can't see us doing it. So many factors have to go our way.

In saying this I reckon we are half a chance against the slow Hawks midfield this week and I also think we are better team then the Saints

Its an outside chance but looks semi-realisitic if we can keep a short injury list. Big games will be saints in a fortnight, freo the week after, North and Bulldogs - if we can win those + bank the port, brisbane, GWS, GC, Melb games we have 12 wins and could give the 8 a shake...

I can see this being a 2008esque finish to the season

I'd love us to win two of the next three. (I was hoping for two of four, including last weekend.)

That would put us 5-6 with a seriously great run to the end of the year. We can definitely win 8 of the last 11.

Absolutely.

In reality though we have just about had the best run of injuries in the comp this year and then Grimes goes down and it shows us up for depth completely.

If we were (God forbid) were to lose say 2 of Maric, Riewoldt, Deledio, Rance or Cotchin it would be game over

We can do it, those results seem fairly realistic. But a helluvalot of other results have to fall our way.

In that scenario we only beat Sydney to 8th by 2 percentage points. That's a photo finish my friend! We could just as easily finish 10th or lower.

I'm more interested in how you have Melbourne winning 4 games.
I think they may have a burst similar to ours from 2010. I tipped them over GWS (they play them twice), Fremantle (Dockers are so shit in Melbourne) and GC in Melbourne. They may improve at seasons end.

9 from 14 actually looks quite possible. Only question would be the Freo and Ess wins. I reckon you may only get one of those. Therefore 8 wins may be the case. But on that predictor, you get a lot closer than I thought the Tigers would.

I did something similar and came up with 12 wins too, just with the Essendon and St Kilda results reversed. Sneak a win against the Hawks, Dockers (away), Blues, Bombers or Crows and we're home.

Dunno......

Defensive depth is the problem, Grimes goes down long term for instance and we are now open to a hiding from the forwards of North, Saints and especially the frikkin Bombers.....

Love to dream but not this year, finish 10th I reckon, might cough up a shocker along the way......

Agree Ari, the return game against Freo will be tough, as will the Bombers game.

I'm more confident about the Saints game to be honest. Think we'll be as good if not slightly better than them around the clearances, and our spread will be the difference.

We're still a chance, but gee, one of the Cats, Eagles, or Bombers games would have been nice.

Re: Richmond will final in 2012 If...

The OP shows how finely balanced our season is at the moment. With some luck with injury and some good list management we might actually still have a realistic chance of a spot in the eight.

Who gets injured, and how badly, is not something we can control. How we manage those inevitable injuries will be the main issue from here. The game against Hawthorn will probably show how well we are able to cover the loss to a key player. If we get crushed, the winter wolves will be howling...

Most seem to be tipping we will fall over because of our much acknowledged depth problems. But there are signs that the coaching group has a strong grasp of which players can play the required roles for our game plan. And there are a clutch of much derided players in the wings (Addam Maric, White, Webbs, Connors, Post, McGuane, Griffiths and Graham) who have been displaying decent form in the twos and who would be desperate to take their chance when it comes. Together with promising signs from some younger players (especially Arnott, O'Hanlon and Elton), and the imminent return of Vickery, we may yet find we have better depth than is commonly believed.

Had to win at least one of the games against the Cats/Eagles/Bombers to have a hope IMO. I think Sydney will win more games than you have predicted.

I would love to see the Tigers make the finals this year, but I think we'll be more of a chance next year when our young kids have more experience and have the pace to play 4 quarters.

"If" we beat the hawks then I give us a chance.
If we beat the Hawks and Saints in the next 2 weeks then our chances hugely increase, if we lose them I cant see us making the 8.

BTW I did my own predictor ladder and we finished 13 and 9 in our dreaded 9th spot with Freo 10th on 13 wins too.

Geelong finsih 8th on 14 wins. Adelaide & West Coast finish 1st and 2nd.
