Richmond Wooden Spooners in 2001 ?

Yes folks, i have done my research and sadly for you long suffering Tiger fans out there, I have selected Richmond to win next season's wooden spoon. My reasoning is that most clubs seem to have improved their lists substantially over summer, except for Richmond, and despite some draft picks, i can see clubs like Freo, Collingwood, St.Kilda for sure and Port Adelaide (as well as Adelaide and West Coast) leapfrogging the Tigers. Your best players are injury prone and aging, and you don't seem to have any depth in your reserves VFL side to cope with injuries. A long, gruelling season lies ahead for Richmond, but at least you can salavge some draft concessions at the end of the season.

The Tigers won't be wooden spooners next year. We may not have improved our club like most (not saying we have'nt) but our list is fine how it is. Have you ever thought of that? Sure. Injuries are killin us but they can be fixed.

The cats are ageing too. Maybe you better think of your own club rather than worrying about others. Geelong will suffer.

What a strange person you are. Your own club does not seem to have a board on this website and you seem to enjoy bagging Richmond. Your own club is a bit odd also. Drops two players off their list and then gets the same players back in the draft. Seems to me that Geelong's recruiters didn't know very much past picks past 71 and 79. I am not a Richmond supporter but I find your writings to be a little repugnant. For some reason you seem to hate them but I am sure your own club has many haters also. I would suggest you take care, this might all come back to bite you on the bum. No club is guaranteed success in this competition. If your mob struck the injuries the Tigers did in 2000 then you could well land on the bottom of the ladder. Probably only one club, Essendon, is not a candidate for the wooden spoon. But don't think for one moment that any club is a certainty to miss the injuries problem

To suggest that any club hasn't improved without knowing the talent picked up in the draft and especially only 1 week into pre-season is a reach IMHO. What's to say Murphy & Mitchell White don't do their ACL's in the first Ansett Cup match, then where would the Mighty Catters be then? And what has Kent Kingsley, done apart from a bag of 6 in his first (?) game. He may turn out to be a superstar but hasn't done anything yet. Nice to be optimistic about your team and bag the sh*t out of others, but this far out from the season??

If Richmond does actually make the finals next year, i'll tell ya what. I will resign my membership from this website and i'll never bother you folks at bigfooty again. But i have nothing to worry about, as i doubt richmond will win more than 5 games next season. OOOHH - Steven Fatziller is going to make a difference - LOL -- Hard times are acoming for Richmond.

im sorry if i have strong views about richmond i dont care if i havent seen them properly in the finals but just cause im 19 doesnt mean that the next season there in the finals i wont enjoy it.. i love richmond, i am not ashamed of them.
not like alot of other supporters at other clubs they bag there team well i have never done it and i never will. not every team is like essendon, good every year. atleast we have had the chance to start from scratch to build our team up and make it work. and i dont know whether you noticed but geelong have a lot of work to do too. there not perfect as you say they are, there just as bad as hawthorn.
