How did the AFL allow this fixture to eventuate in the first place?

Interstate teams, like GWS, Port Adelaide, West Coast and Brisbane, wanted MCG games closer to the end of the year so they're better prepared for finals.

you get injuries in AFL.
you get injuries in NRL
You get injuries in EPL
you get injuries in NBA.

AFL is only 25 odd weeks including finals.

EPL is 38 games in 8 months.

NBA is 82 games in 26 weeks.

I dont care what anyone has said. you have to be fit playing AFL, NRL, EPL and NBA

what you posted is irrelvant for a couple of reasons.

Watch European soccer. EPL they play 38 games in 7-8 months. Sometimes they play once a week sometimes twice a week.

English championship. you have 46 games. you face 23 opponents twice. Again. whats that? 46 games in like 38 weeks.

oh and as far as American basketball, the NBA is concerned, thats 82 regular season games from mid october to mid april.

82 games in like 26 weeks. you play 3-4 games in 1 week.

EPL is up to 25 players.

NBA was only 10 players in the 1970s and 1980s. It increased to 12 players in the 1990s. Then now its up to 15 or 16 players
