Draw shmraw.
WTF is this stupid thread still going for?
Tigers were clearly the best team of 2019.
Everything came together at the right time of the year.
Reckon they would have pumped West Coast in a hypothetical WA G.F easily.
Similarly they would have most likely beaten Collingwood at our 'home' ground in the G.F too......though I'd say more like (a never quite really challenged after half time) 30 points rather than the complete capitulation that was GWS.
They won the premiership because they were the best team.
Draw or not.
Right time of year, they peaked.
/End
They're likely to win at least another 1 too, imo.
He’s mr plow that’s who is...thank you for a sensible opposition based view. May you kick goals from 60 and fly like Ryan.

yes but everyone loves brisbane, they're everyone's second team. so lets not talk about the hard truth, it makes the lions look bad. lets talk more about richmond getting SoOoOoOoOoOOOOoO many games at mcg.

That's how you know your team is truly garbage.

When you're everyone's 'second team' and they'd like to see you win it...

Was like this in 2017 and I'm much happier being hated by the salty pricks!

This thread is legendary.

Why are other supporters so dumb as to not realise that we are not the only tennants of the Mcg... Which a tiny amount of logic would tell you that we will play more than 11 games at the Mcg.

Interstate teams and Geelong actually have a true home ground advantage... We don't, our home ground is everyone's home ground in Melbourne and there are ten teams here who play on it often.

I hope next year we have 20 games in a row at the mcg..

At least we can fill it.

The Dude asked a legit question and you evade with a non event game? Talk about denial.
Non event game? Another school age poster I have to explain things to. That game cost you a shot at the flag by you losing the double chance. It was on your own home deck against a side that had nothing to play for. You didn't travel that week which is also relevant to the conversation.

All these salty opposition supporters can't see we won the flag despite massive injuries earlier in the year. We used the second most players ever to win it too.

We were awesome and continue to be awesome despite some pretty fierce opposition.

lol...it was a response to other Tiger fans coming to our board and claiming the Tigers flag was harder than our flag last year

seriously delusional

I’m pretty sure all flags are hard to win ... just because a few Tigers supporters trolled the Weagles board doesn’t mean you need to be illogical on this topic

Yes unfair to an extent, but nobody complained when Richmond would play multiple games at the MCG when they were a bottom team and no grand final win for 37 years

Their last 7 games in the H&A season they were up against 4 teams inside the 8 (Giants, Pies, Wce, Lions)

Richmond are the best team in the competition and are a scary threat for the rest of the comp in the years to come

Great club and strong culture

i don't think any team has finished a season with 7 consecutive games at their home venue, with 5 consecutive weeks of 7+ day turnarounds in the most fatiguing part of the season and bound finals. They had the advantage in all those matches purely for the fact they had ideal recovery and preparation conditions.

It happened, and it should never happen again

have a look at the thread title for a start
didn't have to play the premiers in Perth
melb and Carlton twice
You guys should be thankful we didn't play you in Perth considering the "calibre" of teams you did lose to at your home fortress.

Port Adelaide - 7 goal loss.
A very flat Collingwood.
Hawthorn, by 38 points when a top four, double chance position was on the line.

You doubled up against Fremantle, Hawthorn, Melbourne and Adelaide... all non-finalists. T

Vic advantage?
Richmond doesn't even get to play all its home games on its home ground unlike privileged clubs like the Eagles.
Richmond's home ground is the most neutral in the AFL. The Eagles' is amongst the least neutral
When the Eagles lose a player to free agency, they get a full band higher compensation than Richmond for the equivalent contract.
That's not even to mention the multiple rule changes this year to "Bring Richmond back to the field"
I'm not sure how many more unsporting advantages the AFL can give your club. Maybe Gill needs to kick your first 10 goals for you before the game starts. Even then you'd probably still be winging endlessly about how unfairly you're treated.
It must be a cultural thing to expect and demand that others win your success for you.

Don’t forget the umpiring bias and lopsided free kick count they get every year. Never hear them complain about that bias.

From 2007 to 2017 West Coast had a +602 free kick differential for home games versus interstate teams - about 5/game. Next highest was Port Adelaide (+295). Then Geelong (+211). Then Footscray (+228). Then Adelaide (+187). In that period Richmond had a +14 free kick differential for home games versus interstate teams. But yeah playing at the 'G is such a big advantage and interstate teams are so hard done by lol

Gifted a top four spot with that run of home games and therefore the easiest QF via Brisbane. Took out a tired and inconsistent Geelong before a completely cooked GWS in the worst GF in years.
Complains when we don't travel enough and then complains when we have to travel to Brisbane for our first final. If it wasn't Brisbane - and no other interstate side was side good enough for top 4 *cough* West Coast *cough* - then it would have been another game at the MCG.

Took out a tired and inconsistent Geelong... which West Coast couldn't do.

Beat GWS who were cooked because they also were not good enough for top 4 so were playing their fourth final.

WCE were gifted a dream last game at home against a team with nothing to play for.....
Nekminnut!
WCE were gifted a game against a tired Geelong who had a slog in wet conditions the game before against a tough magpies outfit....
Nekminnut!!

How were Brisbane the easiest QF compared to playing Geelong, who hadn't won consecutive games since round 12, or Collingwood, who were flogged twice (including by us and by GWS) and only just beat Essendon in the last 5 rounds, and only finished top 4 because you guys shat the bed? Brisbane won 9 straight leading into the finals, except for getting touch up by us, including beating Geelong and Footscray (in Brisbane) and GWS and finals aspirants Port Adelaide and Hawthorn on the road. And we had to play them in Brissy.

We made top 4 because we won enough games on the road early in the season when we had most of our top 10 players out. It's called playing with heart - WC should try it.

If you're referring to me, I was responding to multiple posters insisting that Richmond's wan't a legitimate premiership. I just referred to the fact that with injuries, rule changes to "bring Richmond back to the field", not getting to play all of our home games at our home ground etc, it was one of the hardest fought, most deserving victories this century. It was obviously tongue in cheek, but I was trying to hold a mirror to all the whinging and entitled West Coast supporters who insist that they are victimised by the AFL. Every club has its individual challenges. Few have supporters who lack the self awareness and are as bad sporting and sore losers as West Coast and Geelong supporters.
