We are the laughing stock of AFL. Keep repeating the same mistakes but the club and supporters keep turning blind eye to it all.....!
We are all up ourselves for supporting a "big club". Big in what.? majority of members haven't seen a premiership, we embarrassed ourselves for 3 years in a row come September. 3 times we've coughed up a winning lead with minutes to go....!

when will this stop.? did the players learn anything after GC defeat or freo and now pies..! Yes, we have come from a level of garbage to a level of mediocrity but the club seems to be content with the achievement. If we are on the right path why are the players committing the same mistakes every season.? what has the coach done to rectify the issues.?

I know it's very early in the season and we may very well play finals again but we are not a contender.! How come bullies have gone past us.? oh wait compromised draft picks.? Let's start a rebuild then

When did Dave say that? Radio?
Pretty damming on Dimma I would have thought.
He said they ( the backmen) didn't know what the coaches wanted them to do in the last 3 minutes. Pretty sure they would have been drilled different scenarios over the summer and discussed them in team meetings.

So, if so, pretty damning on Dave IMO!

Discussed last night on one of the footy shows and they gave Dave the benefit of doubt that it was straight after the game and he just Froze up like a deer in the headlights and gave an incorrect/silly response

imagine if jack had said something like that. the media would have chased him through a park and onto a train. just shows up their hypocrisy and their hate for jack.

I haven't watched this - nor will I, but does anyone think having Chaplin back in defense would have helped in the last 30 seconds - his organisation of the back 6 I feel is very underrated, allows Rance to take the game on and the 2IC, is always on the last line when needed (just look at how many possessions he has had in years gone by cherry picking on the last line).

The last 30 seconds is not why we lost, but he could have certainly helped

Chaplin may have helped in the last 30 seconds but having him play and we wouldn't have needed the last 30 sec as the game would have been over.... FFS why do the players need a veteran to be the general when the veteran is basically in a wheelchair are we that soft are we that weak?
The club needs to grow some balls, we need a line in the sand moment.

Damning on the players for not communicating to each other on what the strategy was.

Do our players communicate on field or just hope for the best.

It doesn't appear to be the case but in saying that I nor anyone else on hear has played in front of 75k so I don't know how hard it is to hear out on the ground. But assuming the players can hear perfectly fine then serious questions have to be asked about what the coaching staff is doing. Like Vlastuin punched a ball last Friday when he was in acres of space to take a chest mark and assuming he didn't get a call then the coaches should spend upwards of an hour at training this week of drilling it into the players of calling the spare man in for the mark or the punch. Make it so it is second nature that even if a call isn't needed that the players are informing their team mates of the situation they're in e.g. if it is safe to play on after a mark or if he needs to go behind his mark and assess his options.

Exactly, it doesn't seem like it's second nature to them, knowing when to play on etc. Our players should be thinking ahead and also having that instinct of what to do next. Plus support your team mate.
Instead some players panic and end up making an error.

Why can't highly paid professionals execute the gameplan they have been practicing?
Who knows. We have some dumb footballers, they're not splitting atoms out there. Then again I've never played on the MCG on a Friday night in front of 70k people.....

I believe the players are not fit and suggest that in the later part of the game they were all suffering from severe fatigue which influenced their mental and physical ability to with stand pressure and follow plans .
Hampson was hobbling around early in the game and was vital in a number of incidents late in the game . Sloppy ruck contest gave them a free kick and subsequent shot at goal and then the final one where he clearly did not make the contest . Hunt was cooked all game as was Grigg.
