Richmond yesterday lost Matthew Richardson for at least two matches, after the full-forward's wretched run of hamstring injuries continued in the match against St Kilda.
Richardson took himself to the bench only five minutes into the first quarter, had his leg heavily strapped and could not return to save his side from a 45-point loss to the Saints.
The 29-year-old has had chronic hamstring problems in the past few years. In 2002, he missed eight matches with the injury, and has missed a total of 13 matches with hamstring injuries in the past three years.
Richmond coach Danny Frawley, who also expects to lose young midfielder Chris Hyde with a bruised left hip, said Richardson would miss at least two matches.
Frawley said he felt the Tigers lost confidence and did not play boldly enough after the full-forward left the ground, and nominated second-year player Jay Schulz as his potential replacement against Geelong at Telstra Dome next Saturday night.
"The real positive out of it is I walked away from yesterday's game (with our VFL side), and we had a number of players play really well," Frawley said.
"Young Schulz has played two full games and he probably needed to go back and get some runs under his belt, and he's been really good as a forward. He's only 18 but he's going to get a great opportunity.
"Rory Hilton's now had four games, and he's in line. There's (Simon) Fletcher and young Tommy Roach was good. There'll be a number of changes this week."
