I voted Richo

And it's laughable for Carlton supporters to even suggest Koutafides best was better than Carey's best, hahahahahahahahahahaha so laughable.

mark73 - North supporter - Carey - North player - accusing another supporter of bias

Therefore

mark73 - hypocrite - tool
How often do you hear the word d1ckhead?

As for the debate, I'd have Koutoufides slightly ahead.

As for the Koutoufides/Carey debate, don't make me ********ing laugh. :o

Kouta best was better than Careys. Obviously Carey was a better player because the hights he reached stretched over seven or so years but at their best I'd take Kouta.

And don't just take that as the opinion of a die hard Carlton supporter. Last year Nathan Buckley stated that he'd never seen a player better than Kouta at his best.
I don't know how he didn't get the brownlow cause you won't see a more dominant season than that of 2000. Even before that kouta has been an elite player and at 30+ last year led the clearences after the first 8 rds. which speaks for itself. To be fair one of the most dominant games i'v seen are those of richos. Rd 21 2006, richo racked up 21 kicks, 3 handballs, 19 marks, 9 goals and 5 behinds. And again in 2004 17 possessions 13 marks 10 goals 3 behinds. Dominant! Seeing as im pulling stats out, anthony k rd 8 2000, 39 possessions, 13 marks, 2 goals and 8 hitouts. Not bad for a rover. Now on footywire.com.au, i am using the compare function over there careers richo has averaged 2 more kicks, kouta has averaged 4 more handballs, kouta has averaged 5 more disposals, richo has averaged 3 more marks, richo has averaged 1.5 goals, kouta has averaged 4 more tackles, .3 more hitouts. Going on this information assuming both players in there peak, touch choice but kouta.
21 3 24 19 9 5 1

im not trying to start anything but u say that kouta only averages 5 more disposals than richo over his career (excuse the spelling if wrong)!!!!!!! thats a shocking effort for some one that plays in the midfield and is considered to be one of the greatest of all time, compared to some1 that has played in the forward line his whole career.

im pretty sure that kouta has nominated richo as his hardest opponent many times, one time for example i remember was probably about 2 years ago when he was on the footy show and was doing his tip for the richmond game......
he stated then how much he rated richo and how he still has the ability to destroy teams.

back on the subject though, i voted for richo because well i have watched him more closely over my years and with kouta as much as he is a champion well lets face the facts......he doesn't play for richmond

Richo has done it for longer, He is still a gun now and has been the most unfairly maligned player of the last 10 decades in my book. Absolute superstar. When we play there teams Im a lot more worried about Richo than I am Kouta

Richo had 3 acceptable years of consistently great footy. Kouta had one year of consistently brilliant football and around six or seven years of consistently great football. How Richo has done it for longer is beyond me

Very tight vote - It seems that most agree however that Kouta's recent form is not good. Maybe he struggles in a team that is not performing - kinda makes Richo's efforts look even better.

Or perhaps he is struggling because of age and the amount of injuries he has had.

Or maybe he's 34 with no knees  Voss retired at 31 with the same problem.

Over a 14 year career Kouta has averaged 20+ disposals a year in only 5 years the rest are between 14.5 and 20, for a supposed great that is not that great. Consistent yes, great not really. Kouta has played 22 games or more in 7 years.

Richo as a permanent forward has kicked 50+ goals in a year on 6 occasions and barring 2 years with serious injury has kicked over 30 goals each year. Not too bad for a guy playing in a often poor side, while being double teamed every week. Richo has also only played a full season only 3 times in 14 years meaning on many occasions he has had injuries during seasons.

Overall though hard to compare an slightly above average midfielder with an equally slightly above average forward. But when you consider that Richo has had more injury worries in his career than Kouta has then Richo comes out marginally ahead IMO.

Actually he is 33.

The blues have been rubbish since 2002 and he was 29 then - what is the excuse for this period.

Maybe it's because he hasn't always been a midfielder, he only moved into the midfield at the end of 1999. Koutoufidies is a premiership Center Half Back and in his early years he played most of his footy in defense. And this was before the era of the Cain Cornes CHB who runs around defense collecting cheap possies without actually playing on anyone.

Clueless

CHB = easiest position on the field to play.

Yep because those CHFs are just weak useless players. I'll make sure to tell Wayne Carey that next time I see him. And Richo too although, except on the rare occasional match where he actually fired, Richo was much chop during the time Kouta was in the position.

Who was the clueless one again?
Ask Kouta if he agrees with you, i dare you, you would be shown for the moron that you are when he says, no you are wrong, he was my toughest opponent. He has been qouted as saying that;)

No, because if CHF is regarded as the toughest position then it stands to reason that CHB is the easiest.

In my mind Kouta was BOG in the 95 gf.

What exactly has Richo done again?

Richo is one of the biggest waste of talents I have ever seen. Kouta was cut down terribly through injuries. Richo has no excuse, he really could have been anything.

Richo has been cut down by injuries just as much as Kouta if not more, he has had disgracefull midfield delivery and still has managed to be one of the best fowards of the last decade with nearly 800 goals;)

Please....... 2 or 3 knee reco's and a repeating hamstring injury that was so close to ending his career for good.

The midfield cannot be used as an excuse IMO.

Truly great players make their team great and don't
rely on others to make them great (does that make sense:confused: ).

You have no idea, it stands to reason that a FOWARD can't make much of an impact if the ball constantly flies over your head, you get double and triple teamed every week, and yet Richo is one of the elite fowards from this era

Since the 1993 season Richo has missed 78 games to injury to Kouta's 51.

Your arguement is not holding up.
