At worst he adds some depth at a very cheap price, at best knights may be able to get him to reach his full potential who knows?
has this got a source?
Also Longy has stated that Cole has been delisted is this official?
What will really piss me off is if Pev gets delisted in his place. A ball getter retired for a ballerina

Ricky Dyson has signed a 1 year contract to stay at Essendon for another year.
Still to sign or be offered a new contract;
Bradley, Kepler
Cole, Richard
Johnson, Mark
Peverill, Damien
With Hird, Campo, Bolton and Heff retired. Thats 4 out.
With Rama and Hocking being elavated. Thats 2 in.
That leaves 2 spots free on the list at this present time.
Surely only 1 or 2 of the list above at the very most will be at Essendon next season.

that's good; ricky reminds me of a very young nick dal santo. he has great leg speed and acceleration, he showed glimpses of that even this year; he has silky skills, a good football brain. he only needs to work on his endurance, and given a new coach (new opportunities, new motivation and messages) i think he's ready to blossom. i think we all know the majority of dyson, monfries, bradley, laycock, lonergan, nash, winderlich and neagle (bar injuries) would have made an impact playing at nearly any other club already; sheedy, as great as he was, simply lost his edge and his connection with the younger players. most of those players, if not all, will step up a level next year under new coaches. and you can quote me on that.![]()
Are u serious?that's good; ricky reminds me of a very young nick dal santo
Key word being glimpses, not up to AFL level. Yet to see him perform at a consistent level. Was woeful this year when given a chance.he has great leg speed and acceleration, he showed glimpses of that even this year; he has silky skills, a good football brain
As Longy said Knights had him for 3 years at bendigo, if he couldn't get the best out of him at VFL level, doubt he can at AFL level.given a new coach (new opportunities, new motivation and messages) i think he's ready to blossom.
That premiership window is so faraway IMO THAT OVER HALF THE SIDE WOULD BE GONE BY THEN.Pev should get delisted, no point in retaining him when he is not part of the next premiership window

Not really, I am talking 3-5 yrs down the track. We need to mould our midfield for a tilt at the premiership in 2011-2013, so it is time to get rid of the 30 yr old midfielders, enough is enough!

His VFL form is unfairly criticised at times as well. Sure, he had a shocker against North Ballarat, but aside form that, it was actually pretty decent and earnt him call-ups to the seniors.

Wrapped he got another crack. Spent far to much time on the bench as far as I was concerned with sheedy.
Earnt call ups?
Didn't we have injuries?
He got a lot of games by default.
He got a lot of games after playing one good game.
He never got a game by playing 4-5 strong VFL games.
Not once.
Not really.
Dyson has played 38 of a possible 66 AFL matches in the past 3 years. He's been anything but permanent with Matthew Knights at VFL level.

He's worth the gamble for a year, I can't see us finding a kid late in this year's draft with the talent of Dyson.

Who will step into our midfield than?Peverill has to go. Sick of him penalising himself and the team with his inability to hit a moving or standing target by foot.![]()
He's coached him for three years and hasn't been able to get him to play back to back good games at Bendigo.
And why is it that he has played only 38 of a possible 66 AFL matches.
Dyson failed to grab his opportunities. Showed nothing this year, when given a game in front of others who actually had good form for Bendigo.
Waste of space.
Who will step into our midfield than?
Well he obviously sees something in him, Knights played ricky in a different role than sheeds and he played some good games under him as a goal kicking midfielder.
New coach and a new lease on life, he wouldnt be the first fringe player to thrive under a different boss.
