Just said on SEN Bradley likely to be done for a late pick.

I assume by that they mean 40, hopefully 56.

If true maybe Dyson in the PSD. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF HE DID SIGN WITH THE DONS YESTERDAY????

Freo have offered 40 for Bradley.
Essendon want 26.

Dyson has been told if we can't do a trade for him, he will be offered a one year deal.

It's then his call if he accepts that or walks into the PSD.

3 years will be hard to turn down, but he is a local boy. It's a big move.

I think 40 will likely get the job done on Bradley.

With Dyson he would be mad not to take the 3 yrs, whether he has to leave home or not thats a nice deal for a guy on the edge.

This doesn't sound awfully positive re Ricky off the Bombers board....
"Dyson should get delisted. If we get anything for him it woudl be ludicrously hilarious."
I suppose Harvs, Wallis etc must see something

Haha I think I said that. The kids got pace and a nice kick but no football brain, is very very outside, and can't get anywhere near the ball. He may become okay, but I doubt it.

It'd be insane to offer a player like him a 3 year deal. Kepler on the other hand is actually good so if we lose him for 40 I will be cut.

That seems odd to me, why not go for Dyson at 40 and leave Bradley, who from what I gather is definitely not wanted at Windy Hill, for the PSD. We need a Dyson type player way ahead of Bradley who frankly if picked up will prob bolster the Sharks stocks more than Freo's.

BTW, if we do trade for Bradley, then 56 should be the max we pay.

I think you might be on the money with Bradley - looking at some of the other trades going through today we'd be getting a poor deal for pick 40.

It might be insane for Essendon, but if Freo are going to entice him over then we have to offer him a multiple year contract - he's not going to leave Bomb land for a 1 year deal, prob not even for 2.

If it's a cheap contract and perhaps heavily performance based (tied to selection bonuses or something like that) then I would be cool with being stuck with him for three years.

only 22 y/old...23 in sept next year....worth the punt....

as i said

wallis/harvey/rshaw would know him inside out

We should have had a crack at him with pick 56.

Disappointed we didn't have a shot at Ash McGrath.

What of Moody? Is that still a PSD possibility?

I think we will get Bradley in the PSD. Dyson signed for 2 yrs according to SEN.

I just read in the daily telegraph that the Saints got Stephen King and Henry Playfair from Geelong for Pick 90!!

Not sure if that's correct but seriously, if they can get two decent players for pick 90, then we can get Bradley and Dyson for pick 40, sheesh.

Plus really think we should have had a harder crack at Hadley and McGrath with pick 56.

I agree. Although, Bradley and Dyson would be nice, it's not the end of the world that we didn't get them (still some chance in PSD with Bradley anyway, maybe even Dyson if rumors of 1 year deal aren't true).

As for Hadley and McGrath, I am a bit annoyed that we (apparently) didn't even make a play for one of these for a late pick, perhaps the Bradley/Dyson thing distracted us. I mean with some of the bargains that have been done this year, surely we should have had a shot.

I'm peeved we kept Dyson.

Would have been happy for you guys to take him in the PSD.

Not Kepler though. I believe Knights will bring out some talent in him, he will not be a star, but if played in the right position (forward flank) he could excell. I'm hoping we played hardball (pick 24) because we wouldn't mind keeping him.

I think we are both happy then. If we were starting a team from scratch and you had to have either Bradley or Dyson, then I think most would got with Bradley. He is the better player, but we have plenty of Bradley type players so we weren't desperate to get him were never going to offer anything above a 3rd/4th round pick.

I think they did for a while and than asked for 40 and we said stick it. I think we are every chance of getting him for nothing now.

Possibly, but to be fair, I don't think we want to pick past 30 odd. We may not have wanted to use pick 40. Look at west coast, they gave away pick 30 and 36 to get 22. They obviously have a good idea how the talent pool looks, i.e. 25 good kids and then it thins out to a bit of a lottery.

Matthew Knights said himself on SEN about 10 mins after the period ended they asked for 40 and got knocked back.

Every year is a lottery really. kepler was pick 6 - and today you were prepared to off-load him for pick 40 after 4 years development...

The same year as you took Bradley, we took Ryley Dunn at pick 10, Ryan Murphy at pick 12 and Michael Johnson at pick 9 in the PSD... Johnno is well entrenched in our 22; Murphy plays WAFL, and Dunn has managed 5 games in 4 years due to chronic injuries...

It's all a lottery.

God i hope we get Masten, if not him than Palmer.

Not sure i would be keen on Ebert if he falls, can see him leaving. Most of that Ebert family are w***ers.

Pick 7 Chris Masten
Pick 24 Paddy McGinnity
Pick 40 Harry Taylor

I'd be pretty happy with that. :thumbsu:

(Although I reckon Masten will be gone... :()

I think Selwood at 24 is a possibility.
