Streaming Ricky Gervais - Mortality

I was a tad disappointed. As a massive Ricky Gervais fan I have watched all his stand up and im talking where he has owned the stage and been pure brutal. I dont know whether by the time he filmed it he was already fatigued by the gruelling tour as it was a tour that just went for about 18 months I think.

One thing I loved about Ricky was he would take no prisoners. He would beat up on everyone. Didnt really get that with this. Honestly seemed like he was phoning it in as a cash grab. Just told some mundane stories, a few tidbits about the golden globes but even then it was that funny. Not Ricky level funny anyway. There was no crowd work etc.

I dont know. Tell me if you liked it. But this compared to his other specials is a solid 5 where they were 10s. I get that not every special a comedian does is going to be great. I love Jimmy Carr and some of his stuff is also mundane at times.

Overall, some of its funny but just not what you would expect from Ricky Gervais.

Agreed. Was okay, but was not at the level of previous tours.

Which is incredible considering the material about these days; the Late Night talk shows have a better go at the world today and they do it daily
